Combination of Sika and MBCC products
Sika AG, a Swiss manufacturer of construction chemicals that has also been active in the Polish market for 30 years, announced last Thursday that it had acquired MBCC Group (formerly BASF Construction Chemicals).
The deal totals more than €5 billion and is expected to accelerate the implementation of Sika 's resilient Growth Strategy 2023 and ensure growth in the years ahead.
The signing of the definitive agreement between Sika AG and subsidiary Lone Star Funds sealed the industry-wide acquisition of MBCC Group.
Sika will thus soon be able to expand its range of construction chemicals products and services with the complementary portfolio of the acquired brand.
Striving for growth while being as environmentally friendly as possible is at the heart of both companies' operations.
The transaction thus brings together two highly motivated and capable global teams with the common goal of pursuing sustainable business growth.
Now is the right time to accelerate our growth strategy and strengthen our position as a sustainability leader in the global construction industry. The combination of Sika and MBCC products will provide a complete offering and experience for the full cycle of the construction process, in four of Sika's five core technologies and seven of Sika's eight target markets, including Poland. In addition, the acquisition will strengthen our geographic position, both globally and locally," says Zoran Iljadica CEO of Sika Poland.
