For several years, Architektura&Biznes has been creating a database of architectural competitions in Poland, which allows us to present competition works and build their archive. Therefore, every month we will publish #Competitions Review, a series in which we will present recently announced and adjudicated design competitions.
The new cycle will be formed by two parts - collections of competitions published and decided in a given month. The #CompetitionsReview will be published on the last day of each month.

Renovation 2024
During 4DesignDays, the Renovation Wave Association, together with PTWP, announced the results of the Model Renovation Contest. The contest was aimed at recognizing renovations that primarily improved the energy efficiency of buildings. Five buildings in six categories were awarded.

Results of the student competition for the design of the didactic building of Krakow University of Technology - "Lobzów Courtyard".
Krakow University of Technology has published the results of the architectural and urban design concept of a multifunctional didactic building for the Faculty of Architecture of Krakow University of Technology. The competition received 70 entries.The goal of the student competition was to design a building that would allow for lectures and exhibitions, create new opportunities to spend time between classes, and offer spaces where students could develop their architectural interests together.

SARP competition 1054 - developing a concept for the new headquarters of the Jerzy Zitzman Banialuka Puppet Theater with a branch of the Beskid Bookstore in Bielsko-Biała
The competition is a limited, one-stage, realization competition - it has been assigned competition number SARP 1054. The subject of the competition is to develop a new headquarters for the Banialuka Puppet Theater. The competition study should include a concept with a garage for about 100 cars. Each participant may submit only one application to participate in the competition. Submission of an application is also considered to be the execution of such an activity jointly with another contest participant.
Registration deadline: until February 6, 2024.
First Prize: PLN 50,000 and an invitation to negotiate on a sole-source basis

Kaira Looro 2024
This is the next edition of the international architectural competition Kaira Looro. The challenge facing this year's participants is to create a design for a Maternity Center in Africa. The facility is to provide support for health care throughout pregnancy. The competition is open to individuals or teams. The condition is that at least one member of the team must be under 35 years old.
Registration deadline: until May 14, 2024 (registration periods are divided into early, standard and late).
1st Prize: €5,000 (plus internship prizes, including at Kengo Kuma and Associates)

competition for the best thesis thematically related to the West Pomeranian region
The competition is aimed at students whose works deal with spatial solutions related to areas located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The works are evaluated in three categories:

Student competition for the conception of a fragment of the park at the palace in Wąsowo
The competition has a one-stage and study character - it is addressed to first and second degree students of the Faculty of Architecture at Poznan University of Technology. The concept can be developed by individuals or teams of up to three people. The design of a recreational area must include, a development plan, greenery design, three visualizations and small architecture designs.

7th edition - Brick Architecture Competition
The edition of the competition for the best student projects using bricks is being launched once again. The organizing partner of the competition is the Association of Polish Architects. The competition is aimed at students of architectural faculties of universities in the field of architectural design using clinker products on the facade of buildings. Works can be submitted in two categories: Single-Family House and Building of the Future.
Deadline for submission of works: until February 26, 2024.
First Prize: PLN 5,000 (in the case of collective works, PLN 2,500 for each co-author) and a two-month paid internship.

7th edition - Diploma with Archicad
The competition takes the form of a one-stage, open competition with prizes and is aimed exclusively at male and female students (graduates, undergraduates ) of master's and/or engineering (bachelor's) degree programs on architecture, urban planning, interior design and landscape architecture.
The thesis submitted for participation in the competition must be executed in Archicad software at least to the extent of determining the spatial shape of the project.
Deadline for submission of works: until February 29, 2024.
1st Prize: PLN 6,000 and a full commercial license of Archicad software.

Competition for the concept of the exhibition of the Museum of Westerplatte and the War of 1939
The Second World War Museum in Gdansk has announced a competition to develop a design concept for the exhibition of the Museum of Westerplatte and the 1939 War. The competition is a one-stage, implementation competition, conducted under a restricted procedure. The scope of the project includes an open-air and permanent exhibition telling the story of the fate of the Westerplaters, as well as a comprehensive design, installations and equipment, along with instructions for use necessary for the operation of the exhibition.

Competition for the design of an office and laboratory building in Rzeszów
The competition is a one-stage competition , conducted in a limited procedure. The purpose of the competition is to design an office-laboratory building in passive standard together with the necessary building facilities, parking spaces and a rainwater retention reservoir for the Office of the Office of Technical Inspection in Rzeszow.
