Not since today have voices been heard from almost every corner of Poland about the need for legal regulation of the so-called "signboard". On the day that a landscape resolution is adopted in Krakow, in Warsaw the Mazovian Voivode invalidates it.
Voivode Radziwill argues his decision by failing to follow formal issues - after amendments were made to the draft resolution after the last public consultations, the draft was not put back out for consultation.
The draft resolution underwent significant changes in the course of its work, which were not consulted after the first submission, making the public participation process illusory, and public participation cannot be ignored for such an important regulation affecting many aspects of life, he said at a press conference on February 26.
According to the governor, the final draft should also be agreed with the provincial conservationist.
The decision of Konstanty Radziwill was immediately responded to by the mayor of the capital Rafal Trzaskowski.
I do not understand this decision of the governor. I regret that such a decision was made. We will complain about this decision to the Administrative Court," the mayor announced .
The City Is Ours association, heavily involved in the implementation of the resolution, also does not understand the decision. It points out that the changes in the draft were not significant enough to warrant further consultation on the project.
In the meantime, Krakow residents will no longer have to imagine Kalwaryjska Street, perhaps the most "creatively" disfigured street with signs in the city, without flashy signs and garish advertisements attacking from everywhere. This will soon become a reality. The resolution is set to go into effect on July 1 of this year, beginning a two-year transition period when media owners will be able to comply with the new regulations. Only objects of small architecture are excluded from this compulsion.
