October 1, 2024 marked the inauguration of the academic year at architecture faculties across Poland, including the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology - and the new Ambassadors of the Cracow faculty were elected.
The inauguration at WA PK took place at the Interdepartmental Education and Research Center "Działownia". The ceremony was opened and presided over by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Magdalena Kozien-Wozniak. Among the invited guests were the Chief Architect of the City of Cracow Janusz Sepioł, Cracow City Councilman Grzegorz Stawowy, Chairman of the Council of the Małopolska Regional Chamber of Architects Marek Kaszyński, President of the Cracow Branch of the Society of Polish Urban Planners Dr. Marceli Łasocha and Marcin Brataniec, Vice President of the SARP Cracow Branch. New Ambassadors of the Faculty of Architecture at PK were also welcomed.

In its nearly 80-year history, the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology has produced a wide range of outstanding graduates, helped raise the level of the national debate on architecture and urban planning, and above all maintained the highest quality of education. In the evaluation of its scientific activities, the Ministry of Education awarded the Cracow university the highest possible grade, A+, and in the "Perspektywy "Ranking of the fields of study, the Cracow Faculty of Architecture was again ranked first in the country.
Sasnal, Bujnowski and Maciejowski Ambassadors of the Faculty of Architecture
This year, the group of Ambassadors of the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology was joined by three extremely important figures for Cracow and Polish art - Wilhelm Sasnal, Rafał Bujnowski and Marcin Maciejowski. The three co-founders of the legendary group "Ładnie" started their creative path precisely at the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow university. As they tell in the films prepared for the occasion, architectural studies had a significant impact on their later activities, and the experiences of this period shape their work to this day. The artists talk about their memories, latest projects and plans for the future.
An architect is mostly equated with an engineer, a builder. Vitruvius, the most famous theorist of architecture, ascribed three attributes to it two thousand years ago: durability, utility, beauty. This durability and usefulness has always been associated with this engineering, somewhat ordinary part of building. However, we are fortunately still left with beauty.
