SARP Honorary Award 2024 for architects from Silesia!

16 of October '24

The winners of the 2024 Honorary Award of the Association of Polish Architects are Przemo Lukasik and Lukasz Zagala, founders of the medusa group studio. Congratulations!

The SARP Honorary Award is the most important honor in the field of architecture in our country. Awarded since 1966, it honors designers whose work stands out in a special way against the background of architectural work in Poland. Unlike the SARP Award of the Year, which indicates the previous year's best realization, the SARP Honorary Award recognizes a lifetime of creativity, social attitudes and contributions to the development of Polish architecture. Awarded for almost 60 years, the prize has allowed the most important figures in Polish design to go down in history, such as Jadwiga Grabowska-Hawrylak, Jerzy Hryniewiecki, Witold Cęckiewicz, Romuald Loegler and Zbigniew Maćków. This year, two Silesians joined the esteemed group.

Przemo Łukasik and Łukasz Zagała laureates of SARP Honorary Award 2024

On October 15, the SARP Honorary Award chapter announced the selection of this year's laureates. They are two architects from Silesia - Przemo Łukasik and Łukasz Zagała, who jointly founded the medusa group studio in 1997. Over the years, they and their team have completed buildings that have changed the landscapes of Polish cities. In the 27-year history of their activity, they have designed buildings of various scales and purposes - from single-family houses(Bolko Loft or House from Silesia), to public spaces(the Fr. Fr. Grzegorz Gervase Gorczycki and the Rosary Garden at St. Jack's Church in Bytom) to monumental office buildings (.KTW in Katowice). In their work, they place special emphasis on local context and environmental issues. Przemo Lukasik was interviewed by Kuba Glaz about the circular economy, architect's work and new trends in architecture.

Congratulations to the Laureates and we wish them further success!
