We invite you to participate in a competition organized by the student Habitat NOW Scientific Circle, operating at the Faculty of Architecture of Wroclaw University of Technology. Create a design for a safe public space in times of pandemic. We will publish the best ideas on the portal!
The year 2020 took everyone by surprise. No one expected that in the 21st century we would be doomed to social isolation. Deteriorating moods and an emerging sense of frown show how important it is for us to have real proximity to another human being.
Social connections in times of pandemonium
The goal of the competition organized by Habitat NOW is to find a solution to the problem of reduced social contacts resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Under these particular conditions, the organizers are looking for the golden mean between security and the need to maintain human ties - not only in the virtual sphere, but also in the physical environment.
Project (pro)social distancing
You can create a design for a small architecture object, spatial installation, system, device or other stationary or mobile solution. It is important that the concepts allow a group of people to stay together safely in a public space. The essence of the solution is to provide physical distance while breaking down social distance.
The competition is being conducted in two stages. An Audience Award will also be given.
Calendar
- deadline for submission of works: May 18 this year.
- jury deliberations and audience voting: May 21 to 26 this year.
