Light, in order to be a decoration of interiors, must have the right setting. We're not only talking about traditional lamps, but also increasingly popular furniture lighting. New solutions, such as systems from the LUMINO line by REJS, allow even more interesting and functional lighting of cabinets, cupboards and entire built-ins.

Popular a few years ago, single and point sources of light in built-in furniture are now increasingly being displaced by LED strips. This is happening for two reasons. Leds are more energy efficient, and they last much longer. They can withstand many on/off cycles, and are essentially maintenance-free. They generate little heat and are environmentally friendly.

On the other hand, modern led systems allow even more interesting and comfortable solutions. Thanks to them, we can almost shadowlessly illuminate the kitchen countertop, the interior of the closet and pantry shelves, but also decoratively illuminate the pedestals and bottom rims of bathroom furniture, or stair treads. The availability of leds with different temperatures of light allows you to better match them to the nature of the interior (e.g. warm in the bedroom, neutral in the bathroom, cool in the kitchen) and more nicely highlight the details we care about, such as the interior of a display cabinet. Led profiles are so discreet that — if we want — we will only see the light, not its source.

Light in many options

Just which systems to choose? It is worth paying attention to solutions from the new LUMINO line by REJS. What does it include?

- Basically, all the solutions needed in furniture buildings. Among them — profiles for installation in kitchen and wall cabinets — surface, recessed and angled, base and bottom panel backlights, as well as extremely practical systems for dressing rooms. All maintained in fashionable, modestly minimalist design and the most fashionable colors: white, black and aluminum — explains Agnieszka Sobocińska, REJS Marketing Director.

At the heart of LUMINO are profiles and lampshades for different applications, which differ in the way they are installed. Among them are:

surface profiles with a width of 16 mm,
21.2 mm wide recessed profiles (15 mm wide cutter),
micro recessed profiles with a width of 16 mm (for a 10 mm wide cutter),
^45o angle profiles with a width of 19.9 mm with a smooth surface that allows installation with glue or double-sided tape, with a ^45o angle and a groove that facilitates installation with screws,
recessed angle profiles with a width of 24.5 mm (for a milling cutter with a width of 18 and a depth of 10 mm) and wings that cover the edge of the cutter, with a lighting angle of ^20o

The profiles are available in two lengths: 2 and 3 meters (depending on the model). The offer is supplemented by plugs — with a hole allowing the cable to pass through, and without a hole.

Innovative solutions

Closet lighting systems are also worthy of attention. And especially innovative solutions which are closet rods with built-in light source. They expose clothes nicely, their colors and textures, without casting shadows and without dark corners, and thus make it easier to use the closet without having to turn on the main light. They also work well in children's closets or hallways.

There are 2 types of rods to choose from:

Rectangular with a width of 18 mm — this model has a double-sided design. On one side it is completely smooth. The other side, on the other hand, can be decorated with any furniture edging, so that it perfectly matches the built-in. Properly shaped plugs with screw holes will facilitate installation.
Round with a diameter of 25 mm with a round rosette for installation.

Both models of rods have a grooved top surface, which increases adhesion and prevents minor damage. Both are available in two lengths: 2 and 3 meters.

Easy installation

- Also noteworthy are rim profiles, which can be mounted, for example, in the bottom wall of upper cabinets. Adapted to 18 mm wide boards, they allow simultaneous illumination of the interior of the cabinets and the countertop. An interesting effect can be obtained by ^45o plinth profiles with a width of 19,9 mm. They allow, for example, to create mood lighting in the kitchen. They will also prove useful as a practical and safe illumination of staircase steps — adds Agnieszka Sobocińska.
