How to arrange an interior in the Hampton style? What exactly is this style and why does it increasingly attract our attention? We present 5 things that are necessary when creating this interior.
In the series "5 ways to interior" we present another style after Mid-Century Modern, which you can be inspired by when creating a place for yourself. The Hampton style originated in the Hamptons, a tourist enclave where New Yorkers have long flocked in search of tranquility. Hampton is based primarily on a villa-like character with soft elegance and luxury. It is meant to appeal to resort architecture and give a relaxed.
1. subdued color scheme and soft navy blues
When creating in the Hampton style, must remember first of all bleached interiors - the color scheme must be light, preferably light gray. To this we introduce additional blue, which gives a calm, resort character. Soft whites with blues are the basis for this style.
It is important to extinguish colors combined with blue
2. wood or parquet
Regardless of whether you opt for a rug or carpet, in the Hampton style part of the interior, you must bet on wood on the floor. Wooden flooring will help give a cozy feel to this space.
Wooden parquet flooring is an essential part of the style
3. the right choice of accessories, or rattan and wicker.
Most of the furniture should be light gray or wooden, but do not forget to use rattan and wicker. These materials used in your interior will give the space a real resort character, and at the same time will serve for many years.
Rattan and wicker will be perfect for such an interior
4. gentle retro
For Hampton style retro is not required, and an excess of it could spoil the effect. Introducing a few elements evoking or being items from years ago will help to give this interior a calm character - evoking the idea of resting New Yorkers from a previous era. It is worth remembering not to overdo it.
It's worth opting for a retro addition
5. opening to space
Hampton style is not Scandinavian minimalism, but stuffing it with excessive stuff is equally pointless. Let every object have some meaning. In the resort style, windows that overlooked a spacious terrace were important. Hamtpon style aside, find some space for yourself and open up to it.
Opening up to spaces is also a good idea
