PUBLIC BUILDING
Office building and warehouse hall in Komorniki
proj.: IPSO ARCHITEKCI.
[excerpt from author's description]
The geometry of the superimposed and interpenetrating three masses provides a distinctive view of the front part of the building. By protruding the central block, the office function located on the building's first floor is accentuated. The openwork façade made of aluminum profiles creates the effect of a uniform surface perceived mainly by people on the move, and at the same time provides protection for the southern exposure of the office windows [...]. An important element of the design was the play of texture and color [...].

GIANT OFFICE building in Poznań
proj.: CDF Architekci
[excerpt from author's description]
The volume of the building is determined by the existing building lines of Glogowska and Gorka streets. Closing the quarter resulted in creating a spacious courtyard with a semi-private character. The building's utility program provides for underground parking on two levels, retail and catering functions on the first floor and 6 office floors with public terraces. The widths of the office space tracts were determined based on the building's illumination analysis. Four independent communication risers facilitate the distribution of floor space to individual tenants. An important factor in the organization of space is the possibility of separating both comfortable open-space areas and office rooms.

proj.: PL. architects, Bartłomiej Bajon, Katarzyna Cynka-Bajon, Bartosz Stanek, cooperation: Joanna Sypniewska, Magdalena Santysiak
[excerpt from author's description]
The whole concept of the new transportation hub is based on a very strong contrast and context: the existing modernist train station, references to history in the form of steamlocomotives and an active steam locomotive depot(genius loci - the identity of the city) and a modern, expressive line of canopies and modern elements of small architecture. We believe that it is the dialogue of modern architecture with tradition and history rather than going for a pastiche of pseudo-historicizing architecture that makes this place memorable, distinctive and unique: that the passage of history is strongly emphasized while using modern means of expression. All the new buildings are kept in black and red colors (not referring to the color of steam locomotives) and made of steel.

LAB 150
proj.: Wrzeszcz Architects, Borys and Mariusz Wrzeszcz, Jan Celichowski, interiors: Bidermann and Wide
[excerpt from author's description]
Building of a center for design, creation and research of products and services, created for companies in the creative industry. An important design consideration was to shape the front elevation so as to direct attention to what is happening inside the building. This is served by large glazing framed by the simple geometric form of a black frame. The building is the backdrop for the prototyping process visible from the outside [...]. The building consists of three above-ground floors, which correspond to the different stages of prototype development, and an underground garage hall. The structure of the aboveground part was almost entirely prefabricated, which made it possible to significantly reduce the execution time. The first floor was designed as a rapid prototyping zone and a test and evaluation studio. The second floor was designed as a Living Lab zone - a living laboratory.

Redevelopment of the former incineration plant on Wilczak
proj,: Litoborski+Marciniak Architectural Office, team: Piotr Litoborski, Piotr Marciniak, Filip Osinski, photo: Bartosz Jankowski
[excerpt from author's description]
The building of the former incineration plant, together with the designed public square around it, is the main compositional element of the site - a dominant feature subordinating the surrounding buildings and a centralizing element. The project assumes a return to the original state and original character of the building as much as possible. All secondary, non-original elements, resulting from post-war adaptations and reconstructions, were removed. The original shapes of the woodwork and window ironwork were restored, and additional doors and windows were designed in imitation of them, preserving proportions, divisions and arched transoms.

MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL BUILDING
Multi-family residential building with services
proj.: Easst Architects Sp. z o.o. Sp. K | Łukasz Sterzyński, Marcin Sucharski
[excerpt from author's description]
In the design assumption, an important element in thinking about the massing was to match the existing building, which has a rather flared facade and an asymmetrical gable roof. Our idea was therefore to create a steep roof broken by modern dormers. This combination of traditional roof and modern facade elements created a dialogue with the existing building. Thanks to this procedure, the building also changes with the angle of observation and its view becomes non-obvious. The windows were also composed in a traditional arrangement but their position was disrupted. The offset created a modern interpretation of the traditional design. In addition, corner windows were used to add lightness and modernity. The massing was also enriched with balconies, which, due to the function of the building, appear from the second story. Their large overhang combined with subtle detailing results in a strong differentiation of the residential floors .

Fyrtel Wilda is 66 apartments hidden behind a stylish, geometric façade that alludes aesthetically to the buildings of West Berlin and is carefully matched to the buildings surrounding the development, including the historic building opposite, while setting a new direction for the development of the neighborhood. Modern solutions have been encapsulated in the form and massing, which bring to mind the stylistics of the industrial era. The buildings, it is worth noting, will provide an interesting contrast to the exceptional green areas surrounding the investment.Stara Cegielnia is a residential complex consisting of four-story buildings, equipped with elevators. Customers can choose from a wide range of apartments - from two- to five-room apartments with areas ranging from 40 to nearly 153 sqm. A complex of residential buildings on Trójpole Street
proj.: Ultra Architects Sp. z o.o.
[author's description]
The project was created on a large corner plot, in a quarter where most of the development is single-family houses, semi-detached houses, and multi-family urban villas. Therefore, our action in advance was aimed at fragmenting the development, so that its dimensions resembled the neighboring one as much as possible. The plot also had a "disadvantage", through the middle of the plot passes a heating node, supplying the housing estates further away. Its course also has a significant impact on the urban planning of the establishment. The development was arranged in such a way that slightly larger buildings are located on the busy streets surrounding the quarter, thus protecting the space created between the buildings from noise. An important element of the establishment is greenery. All the trees found on the plot have been preserved, or replanted, and the underground garage part, has been shaped so as not to damage the root system of large trees located on neighboring plots. The entire common space between the buildings has been complemented with small trees with shrubs and ornamental grasses, creating a unique atmosphere. The balconies and roofs of the buildings were also provided with greenery.

HOUSE
The house between the birches
proj.: TEŻ ARCHITEKCI, Małgorzata Siekanko, Paulina Wielgosz-Konewka, Marta Sękowska
[excerpt from author's description]
[...] The clients told us, however, that they most like to sit in the middle of the plot, where the trees form a characteristic, unclosed circle; in the clearing between the birch trees. And so the idea was born for the new building to enclose the clearing, while opening up to it in such a way that the residents of the future house could continue to feast among the birch trees. The building is partly designed as a one-story and partly as a two-story, covered with a gabled roof. Its height varies depending on its function and location on the plot. The part of the house located on the eastern side is higher (6.5 m), which does not shade the garden part of the site. On the first floor in this part is the entrance to the house, a toilet, a utility room and the living space, which consists of a living room with a dining room. In the attic there is a room with a loggia, from which one can observe a panoramic view of the surrounding meadows and forests. The part of the house located to the west, closer to the forest, is lower (4.8 m). Here are located a bedroom, a bathroom, a pantry and a kitchen that connects to the dining room. The entire house opens with large glazing and a terrace to the south side of the plot, exposing the view of the trees.

new Strzeszyn stage 1B
design: Insomia
[author's description]
The new Strzeszyn estate is a response to the search for something between a house and an apartment - a combination of the advantages of both. Human scale correlated with actual human needs resulted in the design of rational, functional, compact and energy-efficient houses-apartments. Repetition of solids gave way to differentiation. Underground garages for two cars were provided for most of the units, which further increased the comfort of the residents. The urban planning of the estate is also the result of avoiding conflicts with existing greenery - development between trees. Respect for what is found. Common spaces, secret passages, intimate squares. Places conducive to inter-neighborhood integration and their own gardens allowing to hide in search of privacy.

Terrace with lakeside house
proj.: UGO Hugon Kowalski
[author's description]
This is a summer house built on a slope in the shoreline of a lake, in the eastern part of Wielkopolska. The building was hidden in the depression of the land, dividing the plot into two zones. The technical part is located on the side of the road, housing the driveway and garage. Only from the entrance ramp is the view of the water surface revealed, which is the leitmotif of all the spaces of the living area. The heart of the house is the west-oriented terrace . It is shaded by pine trees that have been growing here for years. They have become a natural screen, protecting the interior of the house from the summer sun. The terrace is accessible from the living area, and two bedrooms. Two more have mezzanine floors, which are connected by a common lounge area on the roof. The host bedroom, located in a separate part of the building, has its own terrace. All rooms have windows facing the lake. The most beautiful view is from the living room, the high glazing frames slender pine trees against the water.

Wooden house on the meadow
proj.: Ultra Architects
[excerpt from author's description]
Due to the program set by the investors (an area of about 150 m²), the body of the building was divided into two parts, set parallel to each other, and slightly shifted. This displacement created two small spaces. One, on the street side, is a space for cars, while the other, on the meadow side, is a space for a terrace. The living area of the house is a high space, which is divided into two parts by a solid double-sided fireplace, the lounge area, and the kitchen-dining area. The house was designed and built entirely in wood construction, and the elevations are covered with larch boards. Most of the rooms have windows facing the meadow to the south, so there are shallow recesses on the elevations, and sliding walls with which to cut off the house from too much sun.

Portable house
proj.: wiercinski-studio Adam Wiercinski
[excerpt from author's description]
Portable House is a year-round living space created from two adapted shipping containers. The investors are a couple of adventurous people who are in touch with temporary architecture and are interested in finding interesting and difficult to adapt spaces. The realization of a portable home and remote work space turned out to be a great answer to the current times. The facility is currently located at a community garden next to Szelągowski Park in Poznań, and in the future it is to go to the forest and eventually stand on the water. The structure was entirely prepared in the production hall, while its transportation and assembly on the plot took one day, and only the final internal finishing work remained on site. The house was set partially on the roof of the containers already standing there, which serve as storage. Due to the sloping terrain and views, the block was shifted by half its length, creating a large terrace facing the nearby river on one side and approaching the plot on the other, lowering the height needed to enter inside.

The body of the house was dissected by a 2.5-meter-wide skylight running the entire length, which illuminates both the first floor and the first floor throughout the day while maintaining the desired intimacy. The house, despite being open with windows mainly to the north, is full of light. The skylight also formally divides the first floor into a parent's area and a children's area accessible via a footbridge. Such an opening also facilitates communication between household members located on different levels.

SLANT-FLAT HOUSE
proj.: PL. architects, Bartłomiej Bajon, Katarzyna Cynka-Bajon,
team: Bartosz Stanek, Joanna Sypniewska
[excerpt from author's description]
When designing, we always pay a great deal of attention to the context and that our houses fit into the scale and character of the neighborhood. Hence, the idea for the house came very quickly - that the building must be a kind of hybrid of a house with a flat and with a slanted roof, tying together and, as it were, connecting both developments urbanistically. Its characteristic element is the truncated sloping roof at the ridge. This is not only an aesthetic treatment, but also functional: there are 2 tilting skylights 180*180cm providing light to the interior throughout the day as well as natural rapid ventilation of the entire house (a chimney effect was created). In addition, the flat space on the roof is used to hide all the plumbing chimneys. The horizontal cut-off of the building accentuated by the used demolition bricks surrounds the whole building and clearly divides the body into two parts: the first floor - referring to houses with flat roofs, and the upper - graphite cap - with a pitched roof.

Forester's House

The Slab House project was built near Poznań on one of the hills surrounding the city. The architects from mode:lina™ faced quite a challenge to inscribe the modern body of the house into the steeply sloping hillside. The solution turned out to be a simple idea reminiscent of playing with LEGO bricks. The three levels of the building were separated from each other by even tiles resembling the construction tiles of the popular building blocks.

WHITE HOUSE | ITEM_5
proj.: PL.architekci, Bartłomiej Bajon, Katarzyna Cynka- Bajon,
team: Agnieszka Jurenko, Monika Kuszyńska, Bartosz Stanek
[excerpt from author's description]
The entire building including the roof is white - its form comes to the fore. However, it does not exude opulence - it is very modest and minimally refined. The roof's fold lines precisely coincide with the lines of the windows or the shape of the building. The house, although it contrasts with the greenery of the surroundings - it complements it and lives in symbiosis with it (not a single tree was cut down either). The large white walls become a stage for the play of shadows from the trees, bringing the block to life. The external shape of the roofs is not just an empty form - it has been mapped and replicated in the interiors. This has given the living room the height that the investors wanted, and the other rooms additional space. The interiors merge with the garden: large windows frame the views and become natural paintings on the walls.

Atelier.
proj: Starzak Strebicki Atelier.
[excerpt from author's description]
The project for the interior of an urban atelier is located in a premises in a tenement in the center of Poznań. The characteristic element of this project is the amphilade layout - the user is led through the various rooms gradually from the most public sphere in depth to the least accessible, private spaces of the office. On the street side, an open space was designed, accessible to guests, for meetings and discussions. A bookcase with integrated sliding doors in vibrant yellow separates it from the core office space, guaranteeing additional acoustic comfort. The last section is equipped with a kitchenette and toilet in a fixed enclosure, which flows seamlessly all the way into the premises. There, on the platform, there is a section for administration and documentation storage, accessed by two wood-finished steps. The furniture, designed in a compact layout, guarantees freedom and discretion in the use of the space.

The premise of the completed interior design was to organize the chaotic and neglected space, to create interiors that meet the needs of the modern model of teaching in elementary schools and to give them a coherent and friendly character. During the design work, it was decided to color-code the functions in the building. Clear infographics and a minimalist architectural expression make the interiors easy and pleasant to use. The dominant colors are gray, white, black and subtle colors signaling the entrance doors to rooms with different functions. A strong color accent in the interiors is the staircases in orange.

OFF-HAIR Salon
proj.: EGO-STUDIO Ewa Gawroniak-Olejniczak
[author's description]
The industrial interior was divided into three zones. The café/waiting room was located in a container added to the front, the main studio in the central part with characteristic skylights providing natural light and the washer room, in the last an intimate space allowing you to relax while taking care of your hair. In the center of the salon at the powerful oak countertop we placed the dye room. Monumental mirrors provide intimacy at the hairdressing stations and the delicate texture of the lace plasterwork emphasizes the owner's subtle personality. This is a project in which the investor became our inspiration. Here we don't just come to the hairdresser. Here we meet with a friend and find precious moments of tranquility.

FALA_PARK_DRINK_bar
proj.: PL.architekci, Bartłomiej Bajon, Katarzyna Cynka-Bajon,
team: Bartosz Stanek, Joanna Sypniewska
[fragemt of author's description]
The main element that creates the interior is a composition of dangling chains in the color of extinguished gold. Formed so that they give the impression of hanging fabric curtains. Illuminated and slightly set in motion, they will enliven the entire interior, adding the desired glow and reflections. They are arranged in such a way that they create zones in the interior that give intimacy and coziness to guests. At the same time, on the ceiling, the chains mask all the ventilation and air conditioning technology. The softness of the chain curtains is broken by the bar: placed in a central position, it organizes the space and does not overwhelm it. An island position also separates the back room from the main hall. Almost all of the walls were painted with chippy sprinkle paint and varnished - further enhancing the effect of depth and shine, while protecting them from overuse.

KLEIBER company headquarters
proj.: PL.architekci, architects Bartłomiej Bajon,Katarzyna Cynka-Bajon, Bartosz Stanek
[author's description]
KLEIBER is a family-owned company specializing in commercial upholstered furniture. Their new headquarters was to combine a showroom and an office area. However, we did not want to separate these parts - we wanted them to be intertwined, interconnected and identical. However, it was not to be an office - a stage set, but a space arranged in such a way that the furniture models would be used naturally. Almost all the walls were painted black with a structured paint. It serves as a backdrop for the display of multicolored furniture. Arched hanging curtains create successive zones for the presentation of furniture or give a sense of intimacy during meetings. The fabric composition at the entrance in the showroom area is not only a decorative element, but also serves as a "library" of fabrics used for upholstery. All rooms are glazed in parts causing better contact between employees while maintaining acoustics. In addition, hanging curtains provide the possibility of visual isolation and introduce a homely - family atmosphere, which the owners wanted.

Market Square in Wielen
proj.: NEOSTUDIO Architects
[excerpt from description]
The designed premise includes: the city market, the New Town market plate, and the reconstruction of communications for the purpose of connecting to the next stage of the project - the boulevards on the Noteć River. Of great importance was the task of continuing the economic, social and cultural influence of the market - a place for the local community, as the community has been gathering at the site since the mid-17th century. The basic assumption of the project was to create a universal space with reference to the history of urban planning of the city, encouraging representatives of all age groups to spend their free time there. It was also important to design a multifunctional place: recreational, commercial, walking and public activities: festivals, festivals and local cultural and historical events, as well as to create a point connecting various points on the city map. From the point of view of urban composition, it was important to preserve and emphasize view axes and pedestrian routes.

The location of the buildings is characterized by its direct proximity to the forests of the Karkonosze National Park. The 3670 sqm property includes two twin, four-story buildings. The first (P1), with an area of 446 sqm, consists of eight independent apartments. The second (P2), with a floor area of 565 sqm, houses seven apartments and has additional underground parking. Each apartment is equipped with a kitchen with dining area, bedroom and living room. The investors' assumptions aimed for high-quality aesthetic and material qualities. An additional requirement was to adapt the facilities for maintenance-free operation. The traditional reception desk was abandoned here in favor of a reservation and entry system based on full online service. Underlying the architectural concept, design and finishing of the guesthouses is the historical architecture of wooden mountain chalets and Karkonosze houses from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
