This year marks the 11th Mazda Design Experience competition for young designers. The motto is "reCREATION," and the main inspiration is the Mazda MX-30 , the brand's first all-electric model. This year, the organizers have introduced changes - the competition will be held in a two-year mode and will be divided into two stages. The results will be announced at the end of 2021.
The task of participants in the 2020/2021 Mazda Design Experience competition will be to design and produce a prototype of a new object with high aesthetic and functional value using recycled material. Before taking on this challenge, however, participants will have to successfully pass the First Stage of the Competition.
The two-year mode of the competition is designed to get to know the participants better, to integrate them more deeply with the selected designers, and to give them a much greater opportunity to present their work and share their experiences. Hence also the addition of the term "Experience" to the name, which refers directly to the participants' acquisition of skills and the passing on of experience by prominent mentors working with the Japanese brand.

edition2020/2021
reCREATION can mean creating from scratch from previously used material and giving some object a new aesthetic and functional quality, looking for a new form for it. But reCREATION also means creating ourselves anew, improving the form of our body and mind.
The competition's main inspiration is the first all-electric model - the Mazda MX-30. Its interior was developed using recycled plastics (recycled PET bottles) and bioplastic, and decorated with inserts of natural cork. And the battery that powers the Mazda MX-30was designed to meet the user's basic needs with minimal environmental impact.
