STIEBEL ELTRON POLAND began its operations in 1991, exactly 30 years ago. The parent company in Germany was founded in 1925, what part of this nearly 100-year baggage of experience has it been possible to transfer and use in Poland? A conversation with Andrzej Maciejewski, President of the Management Board of STIEBEL ELTRON POLSKA, shows the path from the beginning to the present day.
What started in 1924 with an innovative - for the time - invention of the immersion heater has developed into an international company that is one of the world leaders in the field of "building technology" and "renewable energy." Today, the immersion heater is a thing of the past, however, founder Dr. Theodor Stiebel 's vision continues to be realized in heating technologies based on electricity and serving to make life more comfortable.
Many stages of development in Western Europe bypassed Poland. We have always had a well-developed power grid, full access to three-phase electricity and yet for years the prevailing belief was that heating water and rooms with electricity was a last resort. As a result, the share of electricity in heating remained at a symbolic level. Nevertheless, the experience from Germany was being adopted in Poland. We are the only market in the world where we have built high positions in all product groups produced by the concern: in electric water heaters, convectors, storage stoves and now in all types of heat pumps," explains Andrzej Maciejewski, CEO of STIEBEL ELTRON POLAND.

The history of many foreign companies on the Polish market seems similar: starting operations in the early 1990s and then relatively stable development. However, not every foreign company, has adopted in our country. The market is very diverse. It all depends on natural climatic conditions, the wealth of the population or lifestyle. Poland is an interesting case of how to get ahead of the competition, get closer to the West and invest after such a turbulent past.
We are not lagging behind, we are a developing country. We are taking a closer and more attentive look at technical innovations. We are introducing various conveniences in our homes and are becoming more and more conscious customers. Like any story, this one also has ups and downs. Initially, it was difficult to build a professional distribution or service network due to smaller investment resources.
In recent years, the construction market has been growing. With the help of the European Union, Poland's economy is growing. As much as 50% higher installation of heat pumps per year has been reported. It follows that heat pumps are the future, and the distribution of PREMIUM products is an ever-growing opportunity," says Andrzej Maciejewski.
Poland is the only country in the world where high positions have been built in all groups produced by the STIEBEL ELTRON concern: in electric water heaters, convectors, storage furnaces and now also in all types of heat pumps.
