Flexia was inspired by origami, the Japanese technique of bending papyrus. Flexia impresses with visionary lighting technology, sustainable materials and also cleverly integrated acoustic elements. The collaboration between Artemide and Mario Cucinella is based on a shared vision of improving the quality of everyday life while consistently protecting the environment.

With its flexible and adjustable arms, Flexia offers the highest light output and optimal room acoustics. The textile acoustic element creates a low-noise zone, reducing reverberation in the room. The shape, material and weight have been chosen to affect human speech frequencies. The fascination of the emissive surface made of transparent acrylic becomes apparent the moment the lamp is turned on, when a uniform light spills across the room. This unusual technology, patented by Artemide, meets UGR standards for workplaces.

Flexiais a play of ephemeral glimpses at the intersection of visible matter, color and the invisible that becomes light, says Mario Cucinella.
Despite its high energy efficiency, the lamp has a reduced environmental impact. The ability to control the light emission via the Artemide app prompts the user to take a more conscious approach to light. The effect is conquered by the careful choice of material. The sound-absorbing part consists of recycled fibers: the outer fabric is made from 100% PET bottles, and the inner panel from waste.

Flexia was developed to improve the quality of the working environment. As a pendant lamp and wall lamp, it fits perfectly into the environment with its versatile and lightweight design for any situation, and provides acoustic and visual well-being.
Several lamps can create in combination a lightscape with balanced acoustics.
