Factory Full of Life. A series of online meetings

26 of May '20

Fabryka Pełna Życia, on whose initiative a unique space is being created in Dąbrowa Górnicza[info], together with Pawel Jaworski of Experimental Urbanism, invites to a series of online meetings "Fabryka 3.0 New Normality" with officials, activists, entrepreneurs and all those who want to change the city. Also invited to the meetings will be people from outside Dabrowa Górnicza who can inspire residents.

According to the organizers, the series of meetings will be dedicated to discussing what needs to be transformed today, and how these changes can be made - without forecasting and grand visions, but concretely and on topic.

Is the world we have lived in so far going away?
Will the coronavirus make us look at our cities and their daily functioning differently?
What will Dabrowa Gornicza be like after the crisis?
All of us today are asking ourselves questions about the future, because we feel that this moment is special. However, many people assume more or less consciously that we have little influence on developments. What if we dropped the divination and focused our attention on what we can do to make our cities better managed and designed? At the Factory, we know well that no change comes alone. It is the result of the efforts and work of city residents. Today we have to do this work again. The new normal will not do itself. - write the organizers.

For the next meeting, which will take place on May 27 at 6pm[info], the organizers have invited Lukasz Pancewicz, an architect, urban planner, university teacher and co-founder of A2P2 Architecture & Planning[info]. Pancewicz specializes in custom urban planning projects that combine multiple design threads and require interdisciplinary cooperation. His completed projects have included new neighborhood plans (including Stare Świdry, Imperial Shipyard), public space projects (Abrahama in Gdynia), urban space management programs and changes in planning law.
