On December 7 this year, we learned the results of a one-stage competition for the design of the building of the Treasury Office and the Lubuskie Customs and Excise Office in Gorzow Wielkopolski, as well as the creation of a high-quality public space that will be attractive to both its users and the city's residents. The Treasury entrusted the organization of the realization of the architectural and urban planning competition to the Gorzow branch of the Association of Polish Architects.

According to the rules of the competition, the designed building should represent the lowest possible burden on the environment and be characterized by modern solutions in the organization of the facility's functioning and energy-saving technologies.

The Competition Jury composed of: Jerzy Grochulski (Chairman, SARP Warsaw), Katarzyna Kasperczak (Deputy Director of the Tax Administration Chamber in Zielona Góra), Alicja Listwon (Head of the Tax Office in Gorzów Wlkp.), Jacek Kozłowski (Deputy Head of the Lubuskie Tax Office in Gorzów Wlkp.), Agnieszka Fryziak (chief procurement officer, IAS Zielona Góra), Aleksandra Rybak (SARP Gorzow Wlkp.), Andrzej Wójcik (SARP Gorzow Wlkp.), Leszek Horodyski (referee, SARP Gorzow Wlkp.) and Dariusz Górny (referee, SARP Gorzow Wlkp.) awarded three main prizes and five honorable mentions.

The1st prize and an invitation to negotiate on a sole-source basis went to a project by the Warsaw studio ARE Stiasny/Waclawek.

The jury awarded the proposal for, among other things, shaping the form of the object adequately to the nature of the institution, the harmonious visual effect of the facade, the clear and optimized layout of functions and the use of retained water as an element that builds the climate of the created space.

The2nd prize was awarded to AC Studio Jacek Sołgała Jarosław Romański for, among other things, the clear form of the building, which fits into the spatial context, the harmonious division of the masses and the introduction of greenery into the structure of the building, both in the form of green roofs and vertical gardens.

The3rd place went to the proposal of the Kurylowicz&Associates office, awarded for, among other things, modern and unique, yet subdued in form, architecture and expressing through form the solidity and seriousness of the treasury institution.

a simple and elegant architectural expression; a transparent functional structure; a successful attempt to relate, through the detailing of the facade and interiors, to significant historical buildings of the city.

a convincing way of arriving at the formation of the object's form in correlation with a reliable solution of its function; the strength of the architectural expression of the facade and mass.

attempting an unconventional solution to an architectural problem, unfortunately in a way that does not correspond to the purpose of the building; designing the building "as an element blended into the background of the surroundings."
