Design encompasses much more than form and function. Design encourages discovery and experimentation, is a way of expression, part of the creative process. It applies to areas such as architecture, urban space, clothing, furniture, websites, products or packaging, among others. Whether we notice it or not, design is present in our lives, we use it every day. When well thought out, it often facilitates our functioning, organizes or decorates our space, so why does it occupy so little space in museum edifices?
We encourage you to participate in the competition organized by Switch Competitions, which aims to create an iconic Design Museum in Oslo, a building that would pay homage to the entire design industry, tell the history of design, and serve as an archive and center for the development of the field. The new building should include space for all major areas of design, the facility is to be a meeting place for design lovers, an architectural icon of the city, which, in addition to exhibition space, will include educational centers, a congress hall, etc.

First place: EUR 1,200
Second place: 800 EUR
Third place: 500 EUR
Registration runs from June 1 to August 30 this year, and works should be sent by August 31 this year.
