Experts shared their insights on trends for 2022 and long-term trends that will be visible in our interiors. It was also recalled that this year's most important trade fair Cersaie in Bologna presented a real wealth of creative solutions, attributed to the pandemic period, during which, in spite of restrictions, great creative potential and expression were awakened in designers.

According to designers, the leading directions in 2022 will be diversity, nature in luxury, an explosion of colors, quality and the introduction of art into spaces and interiors.

The colors of nature, earth and sky, including ocean pink, will continue to prove to be a strong trend. Greenery - associated with peace, hope and optimism - was also mentioned as one of the standout colors. On the one hand, we will appreciate pastel shades, on the other hand, there will be the courage to express oneself through color.

I will certainly use muted, soft colors in my designs. It will be inspired by nature, but in a sublime, luxurious way," said Maciej Zień.

The designer also stressed the importance of individualism and matching the interior to one's personality and preferences, noting the possibilities offered by "ceramic jewelry."

Using subdued colors in the space, in which we will find peace and harmony, we can give them a distinct character through the selection of accessories. Here we have a wide range of ceramic decorations, which allows us to arrange the interior in a unique way.

The commitment to nature's colors and quality was also emphasized by Dorota Koziara. The designer, who has just returned from Expo 2020 in Dubai, where she curated the "Creative by nature" exhibition promoting Polish design.

More than temporary trends, I prefer to talk about long-term trends. One of them is quality, which is defined by timelessness and functionality in addition to the value of the material itself. At the same time, I also see color and aesthetics as a function. When designing the Cielo e Terra collection, I was inspired by the colors of the Polish landscape, which I chose so that when juxtaposed in different ways they would always create unique, harmonious compositions. I also wanted them to be able to be used not only in interiors, but also on the facades of buildings and in public spaces. I value versatility and want to create products that win the battle against time, although this is the most difficult thing in design.

Tomasz Smus, on the other hand, notes that color is gaining more and more recognition.

The courage to express oneself is coming to the fore. This is increasing interest in stronger color versions, including stone-inspired designs, which are and will continue to be a very strong trend. Technological possibilities make it possible to offer a huge range of colors, responding to the strong and important trend of matching the interior to one's own style. We can enjoy a real explosion of colors and design without limits.

The MONOLITH brand architect stressed that personalizing an interior is now no longer about replacing accessories, as ceramics themselves already contain strong decorative elements.

Anna Skonka-Wojtysiak drew attention to the trend inspired by nature on a macro scale. She also emphasized the commitment to quality and the creation of individual, diverse arrangements:

The most important trend is quality and the ability to create our own harmonious compositions, which provide the desired tranquility, while reflecting our individualism. We have at our disposal a wealth of patterns and structures, as well as the great opportunities that lie in combining different styles - such as industrial style with glamour. It is worth noting the inspiration of stones and minerals on a macro scale, which, in detail, allow us to create extremely impressive and unique patterns.

introducing art into spaces and interiors

Dorota Koziara also mentioned the increasing trend of introducing art into public spaces and interiors.

Art is increasingly hosted in Polish space and this trend is growing. The possibilities of printing on large-format ceramic tiles that Ceramika Tubądzin has are a great potential for displaying art in space and interiors on a wider scale, the designer added.

The importance of human contact with art was also emphasized by Wojciech Siudmak, who was a special guest at the meeting. The artist recalled the history of his cooperation with Tubądzin Ceramics - the transfer of his painting "The Birth of a Day" to the facade of the Łódź courtyard. He also announced another joint project. A new line for decorating large-format tiles at Tubądzin Ceramics will provide unprecedented opportunities for printing on large-format stoneware. The technology is planned to create a unique exhibition of Wojciech Siudmak's works.

The artist also talked about the behind-the-scenes cooperation with Denis Villeneuve in connection with the film adaptation of "Dune," which was created thanks to, among other things, the inspiration of his work.

At the end of the meeting, guests of the event took part in a workshop on creating fragrance compositions from natural plant oils. The classes were accompanied by an inspiring lecture by Katarzyna Stryczniewicz on the influence of scent on creating the image of a space and our emotions and feelings.
