Velux expands skylight portfolio
Until now, VELUX's range of solutions for flat roofs has included products designed mainly for residential buildings, consisting of a window and an exterior element: a transparent or frosted dome, a flat glass module or a spherical glass module with curved glass. Now VELUX has decided to expand its portfolio and offer a solution designed for installation on flat roofs of unoccupied and unheated buildings, such as industrial halls, warehouses, workshops or garages.

Construction and versions of the Velux skylight
Thenew VELUX skylight consists of two components: a base with thermal insulation and a frosted dome. The solid base can be made of PVC or fiberglass. The dome, on the other hand, is available in acrylic or polycarbonate. The high-grade, durable plastic of the dome is resistant to scratches, discoloration and staining, making it maintenance and cleaning-free for long use. With its matte surface, the dome brings gently diffused, glare-free light into the interior. It also protects interiors from heating, and with its good soundproofing parameter - Rw=22 dB, also from outside noise.
The VELUX skylight is available in two versions - unvented or electrically opened with a 230-volt motor that can be connected directly to the building's power supply. The possibility of ventilation allows it to be used in facilities that - due to the processes performed or the length of time people work - require ventilation. What's more, at any time of use, a non-openable skylight, also from another manufacturer, can be converted to an electrically openable one.
