During the gala event of the Association of Polish Architects, which took place on October 9 this year, the results of as many as four important competitions organized and supported by SARP were announced - "Common Space is Value" (a competition organized by the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning), the Brick Architecture competition (organized by the Association of Employers of Building Ceramics), the SARP Annual Award named after Zbyszek Zawistowski for the best master's degree project, and the SARP 2020 Award - for the best architectural building completed in Poland .Zbyszek Zawistowski for the best master's degree project, and the SARP 2020 Award - for the best architectural object completed in Poland by the end of 2019.
Common Space is a Value
The winner of the 3rd edition of the competition organized by the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning for the best master's theses and design diplomas defended in 2019/2020 in the design category was Mateusz Mania for his project "Revitalization of large-panel housing estates. Completing the functional-spatial structure and shaping the local center of Chomiczówka in Warsaw's Bielany district" defended at the Warsaw University of Technology. The juryconsisting of Dr. Boleslaw Stelmach, Magdalena Federowicz-Boule and Dr. Jerzy Grochulski also awarded honorable mentions in this category to Marta Jabłońska, Joanna Ryżko, Anna Karbowska and Paula Karpowicz.
In the theoretical category , the jury consisting of Dr. Tomasz Slawinski, Tomasz Fudala and Dr. Marta Lesniakowska awarded honorable mentions to the works of Sergiusz Waluda-Rozmus and Damian Hare, and the main prize to Michal Tomasz Wolszczak for his work "Urban Drift. Human activity in urbanized space" defended at Jagiellonian University.
Brick Architecture
In the 3rd edition of the Brick Architecture Competition, the jury consisting of Dorota Szlachcic, Mariusz Scislo, Tomasz Konior, Grzegorz Stiasny and Marek Furmańczyk awarded three prizes in the Single-Family House category. 1st place went to Hubert Zuber for his design of a house for a painter, "Wozówka". The second prize went to Alicja Jaroszek, and the third prize to Michal Mazurkiewicz.
In the Future Building category, 1st prize went to Nina Kempa for her concept "Crematorium". Second place went to Mateusz Wisniewski's project, and third place to Klaudia Szczepanowska and Jakub Frątczak's proposal.
Diploma of the Year 2020
The award for the best master's diploma made at the Faculties of Architecture of Polish universities has been given since 1964. For the past twenty years it has been called the SARP Annual Zbyszek Zawistowski Diploma of the Year Award. This year, in the 56th edition of the competition, under the honorary patronage of the Swiss Embassy, the winner, in addition to the financial prize, received an invitation to a six-week internship in the studio of Chasper Schmidlin in Switzerland.
The Competition Jury, consisting of: Juraj Hermann (President of the Association of Slovak Architects), Agnieszka Kalinowska-Sołtys (APA Wojciechowski), Marta Sękulska-Wrońska (WXCA), Robert Konieczny (KWK Promes), Biś Lisowski (President of SARP), Przemo Łukasik (medusa group), Przemysław Powalacz (Geberit Polska), Piotr Śmierzewski (Analog) and Paweł Wierzbicki (Schindler Polska) selected the winners of the competition out of twenty-five finalist works. Three equal 2nd degree honorable mentions were awarded to Zuzanna Robutka, Alicja Sienkiewicz and the team consisting of Aleksandra Śliwa, Demi Tran and Tadeusz Szaraniec. Two equal 1st degree honor able mentions were awarded to Adriana Sowa and Anna Jaruga-Rozdolska. The grand prize went to Paweł Lisiak for his project "Laudato si': the monastery of the O. Franciscans" defended at the Wrocław University of Technology.
SARP 2020 Award
The jury composed of Biś Lisowski (SARP President), Magdalena Kozień-Woźniak, Marta Sękulska-Wrońska, Konrad Grabowiecki, Dariusz Herman, Hubert Wąsek, Małgorzata Respekta-Paszkiewicz (Fakro), Tomasz Graboń (Bolix) and Marek Szreniawski (organizing secretary) awarded prizes and honorable mentions in six categories.

Grand Prix
By the decision of the jury, the Grand Prix of the 38th edition of the SARP Award of the Year competition for the best architectural object completed in Poland by the end of 2019 was awarded to the project of the new Princes Czartoryski Museum in Krakow designed by the Lewicki Łatak Design Office and ART FM studio. Congratulations!
