Vetrex has expanded its existing range of lift-and-slide patio doors with the vetrex Alu Slide model on aluminum profiles. The new product is made on the DP 180 Primeview system from Yawal. Vetrex Alu Slide doors, which have been launched, will allow customers and architects to create glazing in even larger sizes and provide interesting visual effects. The premiere of the new product took place at Warsaw Home & Contract 2022.

Our DB 180 PrimeView system solution chosen by Vetrex to create a premium terrace door is a system that has been proven for years and has very high capabilities. Our joint task in this project was to customize the catalog solution to meet the individual needs of Vertex brand customers, that is, to personalize the design. Vetrex designers knew perfectly well what requirements the solution was supposed to meet, what the customer needed, so for example, we reduced the height of the so-called threshold, allowing it to be flush with the floor inside the room to make the passage even more comfortable, while maintaining all important parameters such as tightness and thermal performance. This kind of cooperation between the system provider and the manufacturer is the most valuable, because only then solutions tailored to the needs of customers, product users, are created. Impressive glazing
The vetrex Alu Slide lift-and-slide patio doors are ideal for creating large-format glazing. They use aluminum profiles, which are characterized by extraordinary strength. This makes it possible to obtain stable constructions with very large glass panes and narrow frames. Doors in the standard version reach up to 6.5 meters in width and 2.7 meters in height. On request, they are available in even larger dimensions, reaching 6.5 × 3 m. The maximum weight of a single leaf can be 300 kg, and up to 400 kg when using tandem carriages.

The vetrex Alu Slide door is a monorail solution. They are made up of a fixed glazing and a sliding leaf. The fixed element can be glazed directly into the frame. The glazing area is then larger. In this case, the installation of the glazing package is done from the outside of the building, which makes the installation work easier and faster. In the variant glazed from the inside, a special adaptation profile is used.
Customers who would like to minimize the visibility of the aluminum profiles and increase the translucency of the entire structure can choose a door with a narrow center post. Its width is just 47 mm, while the standard is 125 mm. In this version, the plastic elements at the junction of the mullion with the top and bottom frames are also not visible, which further enhances the aesthetic value.

High energy efficiency
In addition to its spectacular appearance, vetrex Alu Slide terrace doors are distinguished by their high thermal insulation and tightness. The Uw heat transfer coefficient is from 0.8 W/(m²-K). Air permeability is in the highest class 4, and watertightness reaches up to 9A. Installing a terrace door with such good technical parameters contributes to reducing thermal energy losses, thereby reducing building operating costs. What's more, large glazing also makes it possible to obtain free solar energy to reheat rooms on cold days.
Excellent energy efficiency has been achieved through proper design and the use of high-quality materials. The vetrex Alu Slide patio door on Yawal's DP 180 system has multi-chamber aluminum profiles with a thermal break equipped with additional insulation. The spacer is made of fiberglass-reinforced polyamide, and the lagging is made of XPS. Through the use of special thermal separators, the bimetal effect of bending of the wings under the influence of the temperature difference between the interior of the house and the environment is also eliminated. Energy-efficient 3-pane glass packages with warm spacers and filling the space between the glass with argon are installed in the doors. The Ug value is 0.5 W/(m²-K). High tightness is ensured by appropriate seals, which are characterized by very high durability and resistance to weather conditions. The ergonomics of use and safety are influenced by the appropriate locking system. Depending on the height of the structure, the espagnolette is equipped with two or three hooks, which ensure tight adhesion of the sash frame to the frame. In addition, the high rigidity of aluminum profiles translates into high resistance of the door to wind load.

Comfort of use
The vetrex Alu Slide patio doors were created with the aim of increasing living comfort. Large glazings provide better illumination of rooms with natural light and closer contact with nature, which has a positive effect on well-being. The doors are also equipped with a number of solutions that increase convenience and safety in daily use. This makes it easier to create a space that is friendly to all household members.
The design of the threshold allows the threshold to be flush with the height of the interior floor of the building. This eliminates the risk of tripping when walking between the interior of the house and the terrace. The applied sealing system and high-end hardware ensure that even large sashes with heavy weight move lightly and smoothly. In addition, when the door is open, the locking elements remain hidden. This improves the safety of users and at the same time enhances aesthetics.
Depending on the needs, it is possible to install glazing packages with different properties, such as anti-sun, anti-burglary or increased acoustic insulation. In addition, there is an option to install reed switches and connect to an alarm system.
Striking appearance
The vetrex Alu Slide patio doors provide a unique visual experience. By using slender profiles, the number of visible aluminum elements has been reduced. This makes it possible to create large glass planes with almost imperceptible divisions. They add lightness to the building mass and give the rooms a sophisticated character. The boundary between the interior of the house and the surroundings is also blurred. Doors with a narrow center post are particularly attractive.
The slender profiles of vetrex Alu Slide terrace doors have clearly defined edges. High-quality powder varnish is used to finish the profiles. This allows to obtain the appropriate color saturation. At the same time, the applied coating is resistant to UV radiation, so it does not change color over time. To increase the visual appeal, a decorative strip of HPVC is mounted on the front of the sash. It masks the structural elements and gives a uniform surface. The whole is complemented by handles with geometric lines, which come in standard and keyed versions.
