Magdalena Grzebałkowska's reportage "Beksinskis. Portret podwójny" and Jan Matuszyński's film "Ostatnia rodzina" reminded a wider audience of the work of Polish artist Zdzislaw Beksinski. In front of the Nowa Huta Cultural Center in Cracow, where the exhibition dedicated to him is presented, queues formed (even before the pandemic) - so many were eager to see the artist's works.
The Nowa Huta Cultural Center has opened the Zdzislaw Beksinski Gallery to the public sitting in front of computers. We can already enter the artist's world without leaving home. The exhibition will show as many astwo hundred and fifty works from the private collection of Anna and Piotr Dmochowski. It includes drawings, paintings and photographs, including fifty canvases created in the 1980s. It was then that the artist's most famous works were created. It is worth leaning on the photographs that Beksinski took in the 1950s. For a long time the camera was his main working tool.
Zdzislaw Beksinski is one of the artists whose works are recognized immediately, at first glance. The dark, fantastic subject matter affects everyone's imagination and moves everyone - stirring up a lot of emotions and controversy.
If you have not seen the exhibition live, now you have the opportunity virtually! Beksinski at NCK.
