When Venice was flooded, many experienced the same feeling as when Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral burned. However, the biggest threat to the city is not the flooding water, but us tourists .
May is approaching, the month when every two years the entire architectural world comes together for the Venice Biennale. The fate of this year's edition - curated by Hashim Sarkis - already postponed to the end of August, is still weighing up, but before the unusual May event on Thursday, April 30, we want to invite you for an online trip to the eternal city. During the 7th screening in the PROJECTOR series at home, we will watch Andreas Pichler's film "The Venetian Syndrome" together. Unfortunately, it will not be a nice trip, we will not focus on the beautiful monuments or charming canals - but on the decay of the city - losing itself not to time or water, but to the uncontrolled invasion of tourists.

The last residents are leaving the city because they cannot afford to live. Housing prices are rising, and Venice is slowly losing its local color and becoming a big tourist Disneyland. It is turning into a lucrative hotel business, which is proving to be a haven for tourist agencies, as well as a dream port for the big cruise ships that call here every day, bringing in ever new tourists.
