"Unfamiliarity" is an interdisciplinary photographicand literary project, whose authors set themselves the goal of conducting an in-depth reflection on the mental landscape of Poles against the background of the turbulent history of Lower Silesia.
The book was published as a coedition of the Wroclaw-based Layers Publishing House and the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts. It is a photographic essay by the originators of this project - Agata Pankiewicz and Marcin Przybyłko - supplemented with literary texts by writers and publicists, as well as reports and popular science analyses.
The goal of the authors of the publication was to better understand the phenomenon of Lower Silesia, a region that saw an almost complete exchange of population after the war, and an attempt to reflect on the cultural consequences of this event.
