New date for Venice Architecture Biennale. Online meetings around the exhibition in the Polish Pavilion

19 of May '20

News circulated the world yesterday that the Venice Architecture Biennale, planned for this year, has been postponed - the architecture fest will last for six months - from May 22 to November 21, 2021. Despite these changes, the organizer of the Polish Pavilion - Zachęta - National Gallery of Art - has decided to organize a series of meetings and online panels to accompany the planned exhibition "Trouble in Paradise" in the Polish Pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice. The event will take place from May 21,27-29 on the gallery's Facebook profile.

The "Trouble in Paradise - online meetings" series will kick off on May 21 with a meeting with the PROLOG +1 collective, which is responsible for the design of the exhibition in the Polish Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale[info].

They will be asked about the relationship between the countryside and architecture in the context of their project by Zachęta director and exhibition commissioner Hanna Wróblewska and Michal Duda of the Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw. The curators of "Trouble in Paradise" treat the countryside as an independent area of research. At the exhibition in the Polish Pavilion, the authors will show that in times of growing local and global crises, rural areas are an important element in building sustainable human environments. For them, it is crucial to reflect on the effects of exploitation of rural territory, climate disasters or global crises - including those whose impact on the fate of the planet and rural areas remains to be seen.

The three-day event will also feature numerous panel discussions with Polish and international guests. Detailed information and the event program can be found here.
