Trends Neolith® kitchen interiors 2021

26 of February '21

From amazing integrated kitchen islands and impressive wall panels to fusing cultures and eco-friendly materials, news from Neolith®.

Today, the kitchen is one of the most used domestic spaces and is no longer just a traditional place for preparing food. It also often becomes an office, nursery, school, social gathering place and dining room. As priorities change, the room itself also evolves, often requiring a reformulation of the spatial layout, furniture, furnishings and accessories. Many people are looking for creative ways to update their kitchen space, opting to replace worn-out and tattered countertops, add an impressive wall panel or create a new interior design. Last year, the Neolith® brand monitored these trends, allowing it to develop the trendiest colors, freshest aesthetics and stylish themes for 2021.

East meets West

Scandinavian aesthetics have been a popular design choice for many years, but in 2020 we have seen a new twist on it in the form of references to another culture. "Japandi" enters the game. The juxtaposition of different hues and textures results in a fusion of aesthetic assumptions combining natural tones and texture differences to achieve balance and harmony in the interior. Enhancing the atmosphere of tranquility and attention to interior life, it is a solution that provides an ideal contrast to the dynamics of the kitchen space.

The Japandi aesthetic can be applied regardless of the size or layout of a room, although careful selection of materials, especially surfaces, is key. Less is more. For example, the juxtaposition of honey-colored wood(La Bohème) with rough-hewn volcanic rock(Basalt Black) allows for an attractive backdrop to the overall aesthetic complemented by restrained furniture and minimalist artistic touches.

The charm of an island

Kitchen islands are among the most popular elements of a kitchen interior. Large, centrally located islands create a wonderful atmosphere that encourages socializing in the room, while emphasizing its multifunctional nature. They are not just a place used for preparing food.

The growing interest in large islands goes hand in hand with an increasing desire to create an exquisite aesthetic. An increase in demand for luxurious models has been observed, ranging from the relaxed and fresh Carrara marble(Calacatta, Estatuario) to bolder designs(Calacatta Luxe, Pulpis) or even exotic granite(Mаr Del Plata).

Positive integration

Choosing spacious kitchen islands is also a functional solution, especially for large families, where every space is worth using for all kinds of storage.

A good solution to increase the space around the island is to incorporate drawers, baskets, dishwashers and even a range of kitchen appliances, such as those from the PITT COOKING brand. These can be cleverly hidden by using a single color of cladding, creating a captivating monolithic effect. Currently, light shades of gray(Zaha Stone) and single-color models(Nero Marquina) are extremely popular.

Impressive effect

An impressive wall panel made of a bold, colorful, yet stylish pattern is the perfect solution for incorporating a simple and striking element into a kitchen interior. 2021 has seen a growing interest in this kitchen detail. From arches stretching from the floor to the ceiling to panels cascading along cabinets, across countertops to the floor, the only limit is your imagination.

While dazzling, extremely detailed surfaces(AMAZONICO, Crater) are still popular, homeowners are increasingly willing to experiment to create an unusual visual effect, such as terrazzo(Retrostone), or concrete(Phedra, Concrete).

The highest standard

The choice of materials for kitchen construction, especially countertops or kitchen facings, is increasingly dictated by an awareness of quality parameters and material composition.

It used to be that decisions were made by looking only at the aesthetics of a given product. Today, more and more people are analyzing parameters when choosing cladding materials. Homeowners are looking for products with long-lasting durability, materials that will not be damaged by chopping, whisking, slicing or rolling. They want to be sure that their investment is also environmentally friendly. Over the next year, the makers of the Neolith® brands expect demand for their eco-friendly products to increase.

As a pioneering brand of Sintered Stone, Neolith® meets all of these requirements and more. It is a material that not only meets all of the above trends, but also features a lack of pores due to its ultra-compact composition, and provides the hygienic properties and low maintenance requirements necessary for use in the kitchen space.
