Design work on the construction of a new edifice for Sinfonia Varsovia has been completed. The documentation of more than a hundred thick binders is expected to allow the realization of one of the most interesting public projects in Warsaw in recent years. The distinctive "garden of music" with a suspended auditorium, an openwork screen of the entire plot and historic buildings inscribed into it is Atelier Thomas Pucher's concept.

At the beginning of April 2021, Sinfonia Varsovia took delivery of the final part of the project documentation, which consists in particular of detailed designs and technical specifications for the adaptation of five historic buildings of the former Veterinary Institute, designs for a new building with a concert hall, a frame and a garden on the 2.6 h of land used by Sinfonia Varsovia. Work on the completed phase lasted from October 22, 2015.
The high degree of complexity of the design solutions, as well as the enormous scale of the project itself involving the difficult adaptation of five historic buildings and the most complicated element of the project, the interior of the new concert hall, required many additional months of work, agreements, research and acoustic tests.

This is an interesting project, in which an integral part will be spectacular rows of seats for listeners, "suspended" more than 3 meters above the ground. Their structure will wind around the hall like a ribbon. The orchestra will be perfectly visible from all seats, and Eckhard Kahle of Kahle Acoustics notes that listeners will experience the effect of "being inside the music."
The construction of the new Concert Hall is part of revitalization efforts underway in Grochow - part of the Praga Południe district. The institution is expected to revitalize the still recently degraded and neglected areas of the city, which have been undergoing a significant transformation in recent years.
when will it be implemented?

The investment is one of the tasks whose implementation has been significantly postponed due to the difficult budgetary situation of the city caused by the effects of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. In the fall of 2020, Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski announced that only priority and already started projects will be implemented in the near future. Investments that will begin after 2023, which marks the end of the term of office of the incumbent mayor and the city council, include the construction of a streetcar line to Goclaw, the full implementation of a streetcar line connecting Wilanow with West Station, the construction of a new seat for the Variety Theater and the just-constructed Sinfonia Varsovia.
