We already know the three finalist teams of the PRACTICE scholarship organized by the Stefan Kurylowicz Foundation. The winners of the scholarship and competition will be announced on March 26 this year.

The jury of the competition decided to select three teams that approached the solution of everyday problems of the modern world in an unobvious way. The proposals take into account the use of new technologies, place great emphasis on ecology and the introduction of greenery to cities.
three solutions
"Katowice-Niewartko district: an image of the city subordinated to the reduction of traffic accidents involving pedestrians" is a proposal by Maciej Moszant. The author presented pro-environmental ideas by introducing greenery into the urban space, which simultaneously absorbs smog and functions as a barrier to prevent pedestrians from encroaching on busy roadways. The project also relies on new technologies that, among other things, by analyzing pedestrian traffic, can detect people with disabilities and adjust traffic signals at crossings to them. The jury appreciated the author for the attractive graphics, but above all for the architectural solutions presented, which are functional and feasible to implement.
The work of Jan Szeliga and Krzysztof Janas titled "Wieśland, or urban fantasy covered with a thatched roof" refers to living in harmony with the environment. The project involves the creation of an urban amusement park in a rural setting. Instead of roller coasters, the architects propose a green leisure space with inns serving healthy, organic food. The concept was praised for its innovative approach to the subject of the clash of two important areas of human activity - culture and the environment - and for the aesthetic qualities of the work.
The dangers of insufficient focus on the real world are analyzed in the work titled. "Beware(us)!" by Magdalena Orzeł-Rurańska and Kinga Kwaśny. The architects outline a vision of a city with infrastructure in the spirit of smart, which informs residents of the need to activate vigilance in sensitive areas, such as pedestrian crossings. The work was chosen because of the relevance and timeliness of the theme of the virtual world, which increasingly absorbs the attention of society, raised in the project.
