Rosh Hanikra - a dream villa in Israel

21 of July '21

The sea views from the villa, located in the north of Israel, right on the Mediterranean coast, are an integral part of the house on display today and an element that connects the interior to the surrounding nature. Taking the sea view as a starting point, architect Moshe Zion offered investors an open space with clear views of the garden and pool. One of the main roles here is played by a spectacular facade created with two shades of Dekton sintering from Cosentino.

To achieve a contrast between the coolness of the materials, the look of concrete and glass, and the warmth of wood, the designer opted to use different planes and shades of 8mm Dekton Kelya and Dekton Soke sinter. As a result, when looking at the house from the outside, the solid ceases to be monolithic, and the whole creates an impression of dynamic movement on the facade.

The large Dekton surfaces used on the facade are the undisputed stars of this building and the style we were looking for with the investor, says the project's author, architect Moshe Zion.

The choice of concrete-like material creates a very industrial and modern look as a result. Large terraces with wooden floors and glass balustrades are the perfect counterpoint to the "cold" feel of the minimalist gray. The warmth of the wood and the character conveyed by the open kitchen, with an impressive Dekton Radium sintered kitchen island connecting the interior to the pool, invites unhurried celebration of moments with guests and household members.

from rustic to modern

The main challenge in this project was to modernize a previously found rustic-style block with a tiled roof and replace the building with a contemporary, more inspiring version, using visually appealing and weather-resistant Cosentino finishing materials. It must be said that in terms of appearance and style, no one would have thought that this house is the result of a metamorphosis of a villa built in a very traditional style. This turned out to be possible precisely thanks to the use of large-area Dekton panels, installed on an aluminum structure.

This modern concept is also evident inside the house. The most obvious example is the kitchen, seamlessly connected to the sea view and the surrounding area. A large island from Dekton Radium, which also serves as a bar, provides an open and highly functional gathering place that matches the design of the rest of the house.

Renovating the entire façade with Cosentino's finishing materials is perhaps one of the most visually striking solutions for transforming a house without significantly altering its internal structure. In the case of the Rosh Hanikra villa, the result is spectacular, and the whole thing looks like a newly built house.
