RAKO has supplied tiles for two stadiums in Qatar, where the 2022 FIFA World Cup is currently being held.
One of them is the Education City stadium, located in the Qatari city of Al Rajan on several university campuses (Qatar Foundation's Education City). It has been dubbed the "diamond in the desert." The diamond-shaped stadium sparkles during the day and shines at night.
With 20% of the building materials certified as eco-friendly, the stadium ranks among the most environmentally friendly stadiums in the world. In May 2019, Education City Stadium received a five-star rating from GSAS.
This stadium used white matte tiles from the SYSTEM series in 30×60 cm format combined with white tiles in a fine granite pattern in 30×30 cm format. In total, RAKO supplied 10,500 m² of ceramic tiles.

Al Thumama Stadium is located near Doha's Hamad International Airport. The architectural design by Ibrahim Jaidah, chief architect at Arab Engineering, draws inspiration from the traditional taqiyah hat worn by men and boys throughout the Middle East. The stadium is surrounded by a 50,000-square-meter public park and has a seating capacity of 40,000. After the World Cup, half of the seats will be removed from the stadium and donated to other countries.
RAKO supplied 20,000 m² of ceramic tiles for the stadium. In addition to the 60×60 cm tiles, 60×120 cm tiles in three color shades were made to order, according to exact specifications.
