The Turczynek villa and park complex is located in the Mazovian Voivodeship, in Milanówek, on Brwinowska Street. The complex includes two villas "Turczynki" and the park space surrounding the estates. These are historic buildings, which were constructed around 1905 according to the design of architect David Lande.

After purchasing the plot in 1904, Bonawentura Toeplitz asked a Lodz-based architect to design two villas, facing each other with facades. These were to be villas for his two daughters, called Turkish girls by the local community, while he himself was called a Turk. During World War I, painter Leon Wyczółkowski lived in this residence, and it was there that his paintings survived the war. After World War II, the Central Training Center of the Union of Polish Youth was established here, and later it housed a tuberculosis hospital. In 1980 the complex was secured and entered in the register of monuments, and now in the resources of the Milanówek City Hall it is waiting for investors who would restore the villas to their former glory.

The guiding principle was the need to save the deteriorating monument, and at the same time the creation of a Music Center - music and architecture have always been deeply connected. The project abounds in original forms, furniture, light fixtures and other accessories prepared with respect for the historic character of the villa - to simultaneously honor its history while introducing fresh solutions and colors. The design outlines concepts for several main rooms, such as a concert hall, classrooms and a music library. Of all the rooms shown, the most representative is the staircase exhibition, designed to combine history with multimedia solutions.

During the creation of this project, the opinion of people who actively use music education facilities became very important to me. It helped me make important design decisions, and made me aware of what was important to the people who would be using the music spaces.

In the music education survey, respondents stressed the importance of sound absorbers and diffusers to eliminate unwanted resonances. Comfort and coziness of the interior were also important, with consideration given to chairs, desktops, armchairs, pictures and plants. When asked about their experience with day care centers, they pointed out the need for couches, study tables, a piano and dining facilities with a kettle, microwave and refrigerator. They stressed that a day care center is a place where students spend their afternoons, eat hot meals and make friends. Before I started creating the design, I already knew exactly what elements needed to appear to meet the expectations of potential users.

In the end, the project abounds in modern solutions and those that aimed to preserve the building's garb. The layout of the rooms refers to the original layout, before the changes imposed by the function of the hospital - I wanted to refer to the original form of the building as strongly as possible. We have incorporated spaces for people with disabilities so that they can be part of the life of the Music Center, use the classrooms, as well as perform at chamber concerts.

Musicians are sensitive artists, they pay attention to the world around them, colors and greenery affect them as much as visual artists or architects - as sensitive artists, we should remember that spaces where art is created cannot be neglected.
