Thelighting of a kitchen affects not only its functionality, but also its aesthetics. So how to choose the right lamps? Let's check on the example of five arrangements.
Classically
The apartment designed by Golaska Studio has an area of 38m². The space has been divided into zones. The island not only separates the individual parts of the interior, but also allows to maintain consistency between the kitchen and living room. The furniture performs multiple functions. It can be both a convenient work surface and a place to eat or work. Architect Paulina Golaska paid special attention to the choice of light source over the kitchen island. Due to the universal purpose of the island, it was necessary to match the appropriate light intensity and the proportions of the lamp itself. In the end, the choice fell on a ball-shaped luminaire.

Industrially
The austere ceiling and black furniture require the right choice of lamps, which not only provide the right amount of light, but also emphasize the unique character of the interior. Piotr Lipski of CO Architects opted for spot, surface-mounted and track-mounted lighting. The latter provides great flexibility and the ability to modify the positioning of the light in relation to the place or object we want to illuminate. The black finish and the simple form of the fixtures make the lighting blend perfectly with a loft arrangement.

In wood
Kreska Studio created a simple arrangement based on wood. One of the few decorations here is the lighting. Round fi xtures in the pendant and wall versions added character to the interior. The right lamps in a kitchen with wooden cabinets are crucial not only for functionality, but also for the aesthetics of the entire space. It is worth using light that will highlight the natural charm of this material and its warm color and texture. Wooden cabinetry can then be both a focal point of the arrangement and a practical element for everyday use.

Minimalistically
The arrangement by EFEM Studio is distinguished by the use of liquid metal. It can be found on the fronts of the kitchen island. The minimalist design is emphasized by a subdued color palette consisting of white, gray and black. The latter also appears in the form of light fixtures, which perfectly blend into the space, giving it an elegant look without compromising the coherence of the arrangement. An interesting treatment is the non-standard way of running the power cord from one lamp to another. This solution perfectly reflects the modern character of the apartment.

In white
The white kitchen by Vierzueins Design is extremely striking. However, selecting the individual elements of such an arrangement can be a challenge. Lighting of a bright kitchen with a stone countertop plays a key role in the functionality of such an interior. Walls and furniture in the shade of white make the room seem spacious, and the right lamps can further enhance this effect. For the workspace, choose fixtures that will emphasize the natural appearance of the stone, but at the same time provide adequate lighting for food preparation. A lamp that gives soft diffused light, which will not reflect on bright surfaces, will work best.
