Haloo: Can you hear me?

The office is lit by an overly intense, unpleasant light that interferes with concentration instead of helping. From behind a thin wall come the voices of co-workers, discussions and ringing phones. For a moment I concentrate on my own thoughts, but I can still hear every whisper, every click of the keyboard. The thoughts flow slowly, the work becomes more and more difficult. What a relief it would be now to be able to enter a space where there is silence, where light aids concentration without tiring the eyes.

In open-plan offices, noise levels often oscillate between 60 and 75 dB, which is comparable to the volume of a conversation. Scientists have proven that even soft sounds, such as whispering, can distract us, and it can take 8 to as much as 25 minutes to return to full concentration. Noise levels in the daytime work environment should comply with WHO recommendations of less than 50 dB to prevent tinnitus and permanent hearing damage. Haloo, with the highest acoustic class A, is able to significantly reduce noise levels in office spaces, supporting the health and concentration of employees.

Haloo luminaire, designed by Maciej Karpiak in cooperation with the LABRA light thinking brand, offers not only noise reduction, but also excellent lighting performance. The LEDs and deeply positioned lenses used provide glare protection of UGR<17 to UGR<13 in the vertical version , which is crucial for users' visual comfort. The average light intensity on the working surface with the Haloo system is more than 500 lux, which contributes to the even distribution of light in the space, thus increasing work comfort and efficiency.

Haloo's material, PET-felt, is not only environmentally friendly, but also effectively absorbs sound waves. What's more, its specially designed form and thermoformed surface with a wavy shape promotes sound diffusion, minimizing reflections and increasing acoustic comfort in the office. Manufacturing the luminaire in Poland and using recycled materials (20 PET bottles per luminaire) significantly reduces the carbon footprint, promoting sustainability.

In open-plan offices, excessive noise limits communication, which affects collaboration and can lead to organizational problems. Studies show that the number of face-to-face conversations in such conditions can drop by up to 70%, negatively affecting relationship building and team effectiveness.

Investing in spaces that support a healthy environment is a strategic step toward a future where every employee can reach their full potential.
