Before starting any maintenance work, be sure to assess the condition of the wood. Depending on the construction of the swing, it may be necessary to partially disassemble it, which will allow you to thoroughly reach all the elements. Before applying the protective product, make sure that the wood is dry. Its moisture content should not exceed 15%. This is extremely important, because the product applied to damp wood will not properly penetrate its structure. As a result, the wood will not be properly protected. Removal of dirt, filling any cavities and sanding is also a mandatory point. You must also dust off the surface thoroughly. If stains or resin are visible on the wood, they should be removed with extraction gasoline.

After such preparation you can apply the impregnate. Before painting, be sure to thoroughly mix the protective preparation. Repeat this activity also during the work. Apply the product in accordance with the direction of the grain. Apply two or three layers, keeping a minimum 4-hour interval between them. After applying the first coat, sand with fine-grained paper and dust off the surface again. Treated wood will be protected from UV radiation, water and fungi and mold.
