The choice of flooring is one of the most important decisions during our renovation. It stays with us for years, plus it has a huge impact on the character of the interior. That's why we usually opt for natural wood, which is known for its uniqueness, durability and wide range of shades. Skandinavien floors are distinguished by a variety of textures and finishes, so we can easily choose the best version for our apartment or house.
nature enters the living room
Skandinavien floors bring a cozy atmosphere to our four walls. Natural wood is pleasant to the touch, plus it provides warmth underfoot regardless of the weather outside the window. It will also find its way into any space: an elegant living room with a sofa in the lead role, a narrow hallway or a children's room in the attic. Skandinavien flooring provides a natural microclimate in which even allergy sufferers will easily find their way. We can also be sure that each plank we lay is unique.
In our wooden floorboards (three-layer and solid), the natural grain of the wood and occasional knots are visible, which emphasizes the absolute uniqueness of the material," notes Piotr Szczęśniak, VOX expert.
Skandinavien floors were created from durable and indigenous wood species: oak and ash, which provide high resistance against mechanical damage. VOX offers four types of solid boards and eight variants of three-layer boards. All Skandinavien floors can be found at vox.pl.
type of plank matters
If you appreciate the traditional look of the floor, bet on planks made of solid wood. We can choose them in a lacquered variant, with a slight sheen, and in an oiled option, which is less glossy.
Solid wood floors consist of a single piece of wood, without layers. Solid flooring does not require an underlay, it is installed by gluing it to the subfloor, adds Piotr Szczęśniak.

Skandinavien's flooring range also includes three-layer planks, which consist of a uniform wood layer, cross-planked slats and precious wood in either an oiled or seven-layer varnish version. This structure ensures a reduction in shrinking and swelling of the wood when exposed to moisture. It is also distinguished by enhanced resistance to deformation. Unlike solid boards, the three-layer floor can be used with underfloor heating. We can use such a structure in the shade of Oak Fosen in the room of our toddlers, where it is exposed to impacts and scratches. Choosing layered boards, we gain freedom in the choice of installation method. We can lay them both glued and floating.

match the pattern to your interior
The Skandinavien flooring range allows us to fully match the type of plank to our space. In larger and well-sunlit rooms, it's worth laying the 1-lam version, which has no division into visible rows of lamellas. Most models in this group are also distinguished by the V-groove treatment, which involves milling the sides: this creates a small indentation between the boards, fully reflecting the character of the wood. On the other hand, a 3-laminate floor is worth laying in smaller rooms that are used frequently. It will work great in a hallway or living room, where it will look like a cohesive parquet floor.

care guarantees shine
The clatter of heels in the hallway, dirty paws of the dog after a walk, toys constantly falling: our floor is put to the test every day. That's why you'll find lacquered and oiled versions in Skandinavien's range of solid floors. Lacquered boards are finished with seven layers of varnish additionally hardened with UV rays, which maximizes their durability and resistance to discoloration. Oiled flooring, on the other hand, emphasizes the grain of the wooden surfaces thanks to the fact that the oil penetrates deep into the wood and impregnates it well. To fully enjoy wooden planks, we must remember to maintain them periodically. Since oil wipes off faster than varnish, we need to apply a fresh layer of protection to oiled boards more often. Regardless of our choices, Skandinavien flooring will warm up our space, bringing a touch of natural freshness to it.
