Dash and minimalism in a Lublin interior

05 of February '21

The interior of POZ_19 in Lublin by 081 ARCHITEKCI studio is a space designed with flair, but at the same time maintaining the minimalist aesthetic characteristic of their projects, which they consistently develop in their subsequent proposals. Simplicity, color purism, contrasting but perfectly complementary structures, strong but unobtrusive accents that resound in a minimalist interior or, finally, repetitive geometric forms - this is what we recognize 081 Architects' projects by.

The aforementioned momentum of POZ_19, realized in 2019, is primarily related to the possibilities, resulting from the size of the interior, as it is a two-story. Modern trends and functional simplicity are combined here, and the slogan less is more is fully implemented by subtracting unnecessary embellishments.

Monochromatic colors and light installations

On the first level we find a large open space of the living room and a slightly receded and separated elongated kitchen. It is separated from the living room area by a very interesting solution, that is, by an object that, on the one hand, can be regarded as an interestingly solved partition wall, while on the other hand it brings to mind a kind of installation with both practical and visual qualities, as it houses a plasma screen and a fireplace, and on the sides all this is framed by two tall standing speakers. A simple solution is thus achieved, but through the repetition of geometric rhythms and the juxtaposition of structures - the rectangle of the cool plasma screen, enlivened by a colorful image, and the slightly lower rectangle of the fireplace "screen" - it is also unusual.

In the space of the first level we find intertwined white, gray with a whole range of shades and warm light brown of the floorboards, kitchen furniture and partially wall upholstery. Another interesting solution here is a wooden illuminated alcove, located at the entrance door and serving as a place for outer garments and at the same time as a seat.

The very high ceiling space is interspersed with hanging lamps, creating a kind of interesting light installation - again, functionality is combined here with attractiveness and originality of the visual effect. The lamps are important accents in the other spaces as well, because the one in the bedroom and kitchen, for example, are made up of several black oblong modules, somewhat reminiscent of Alexander Calder's kinetic constructions, the so-called mobile. Meanwhile, the lamps in the bathrooms play interestingly with the contrasting structure of the tiles. In the apartment we also find a small sauna.

playing with stronger accents

Thestaircase leading to the second level of the apartment repeats the rhythms as well as the color and material solutions of the first level, moreover, its openwork form built of delicate white balusters provides a light connection between the two spaces.

Among their monochromatic, subtle range of colors, we find plant elements here and there, which enliven the interior and are strong color accents - in whites and grays their greenery resounds all the more. The only different color is the lemon yellow of the recesses of the room intended for the younger resident, by the way, an extremely ironic, but also very subtle element there is the pillow on the bed in the shape of the popular emoji "pile of poo", eagerly used in social media. The whole is an attractive proposition based on spaciousness, consistency and minimalism at its best.
