The Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul in Šiauliai is the most striking architectural example of the late Renaissance in Lithuania. The cathedral looks extremely grand and is enriched with original architectural details. The 70-meter high tower is visible from afar from every side of the city.

The monumental building, full of original architectural details, looks like a defensive structure. The arches of the main facade and the turrets of the courtyard gate with shooting holes, create the impression of a fortress ready to defend itself. This impression is enhanced by the northern courtyard gate opposite the cathedral, the only one of its kind in Lithuania. This effect of a well fortified building was created by combining local architectural traditions with Western models.
Preparing the lighting design for such a magnificent building became a huge challenge, and at the same time a sheer pleasure. The use of Piston-type luminaires designed for the illumination of the facades of historic buildings made it possible to maintain all design assumptions. A wide selection of optics made it possible to obtain unique lighting scenes.
