Lasse, Bosse and Olle - the heroes of the book titled. "The children of Bullerbyn" created a unique map of mysterious passages and caves in haystacks. How can we draw a creative map ourselves, which will allow us to get to know our immediate surroundings better?
TheInternational Cultural Center in Cracow invites children aged five to ten to Sunday reading and art workshops. The classes will be led by ICC educator Joanna Majewska, who will read an excerpt from the book "The Children of Bullerbyn" by Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren and introduce the unusual story related to the map created by the book's characters.
How to make a map yourself?
Workshop participants will learn what a compass is used for, get acquainted with its different types and get tips on how to become a cartographer of the nearest area on their own .
To make your own map you will need the following materials:
- ruler,
- crayons,
- markers,
- A3 size white sheet of paper,
- colored paper,
- scissors,
- glue stick.
