The Cemex Foundation "We Build the Future" supports local communities in various areas through its projects. This time, with the participation of Cemex volunteers, a helping hand was extended to four-legged friends living near Cemex plants.
Short and cold winter days are a very hard time for homeless animals, which need human support the most during this very period. For the third year in a row, the Cemex Foundation has invited its volunteers to take part in a campaign to help homeless quadrupeds.
The winter edition of the initiative under the name "Animal Guardian" involved 30 volunteers from all over Poland, who already take care of homeless animals in shelters or feed stray dogs and cats near their place of residence or Cemex plants.

During the last campaign, more than 500kg of dog food and over 200kg of cat food were collected for animals in need. Volunteers of the Cemex Foundation assisted in delivering the gifts to selected shelters and animal rescue sites.
The group of volunteers represented almost 30 plants owned by Cemex and located in 16 cities across Poland, including Warsaw, Krakow, the Tri-City, and Chelm. Thanks to the commitment of the employee-volunteers, it was possible to help animals in 21 places, including shelters for homeless animals, foundations feeding wild or free-living cats and dogs, or adoption centers for dogs and cats.
