November 24 marked the end of the autumn edition of the Festival of Open Architectural Studios, an event during which we peeked into the nooks and crannies of design studios to peep into the working methods of the architects who create in them and ask questions that bothered us.
Last Wednesday we virtually moved to Warsaw's Saska Kępa to the Kuryłowicz & Associates studio. The meeting was moderated by varsavian journalist Jerzy Majewski. The Kuryłowicz & Associates studio is one of the largest in Poland, and its history dates back to the 1980s. The main narrators are SARP honorary award winner Ewa Kuryłowicz and her son, Marek. They talk about what it's like to work in such a large studio, their flagship projects, and plans for the future. They also mention prominent architect Stefan Kurylowicz, one of the studio's founders.
Of course, there was no shortage of what is most important in the Architectural Open Studio Festival - office presentations and learning about the working methods of architects.
