The Cielo e Terra collection of large-format porcelain stoneware tiles exudes a delicate color palette, drawing on the distinctive muted, pastel hues of Central Europe, known for its abundance of cool months. Such a color palette was the inspiration of Dorota Koziara, author of the collection, designer, interior designer, art director, exhibition curator, whose studio is located in Milan on a daily basis.

Joining the collaboration with Tubądzin a couple of years ago, as with any of my collaborations, I started by analyzing the brand's collections at the time. I wanted to propose innovative designs that would enrich the product range. In this case, they were materials that met standards for public buildings and for facades. These types of tiles are always a challenge. The Cielo e Terra collection I designed are stoneware tiles, colored in the mass, that meet the technical criteria mentioned above. However, that's not all. Ceramics are usually perceived as cold to the touch. I wanted to achieve a pleasant and warm effect. Together with Tubądzin's technology department, we decided to use deep matte surfaces, which, in my opinion, give the result I wanted.Dorota Koziara says about the collection

Cielo e Terra is a collection of large-format tiles, which has its uses both in public buildings, private spaces and on facades. It is complemented by mosaics, Geometry and Up Down , which are created in all the base colors of the collection. Architects can thus combine large-format tiles with finer forms. Now a new color, Green , has been included in the color range. Cielo e Terra has also been enriched with black and super white tiles.

The harmonious color range is a proposal especially for architects, who deal with many materials in their daily creative work. I designed it in such a way that each color from the collection perfectly harmonizes with the others. This also makes it possible to use all the available colors in one project, and they will still form a coherent whole. - Dorota Koziara adds.

Also new are decorations on large-format tiles, specially designed to expand and complement the collection. Among them are decorations, the so-called gradients, in which on the plane of the plate a delicate color transitions to white or mixes with another color. Tubadzin's state-of-the-art technological lines are used to produce them.

To the smooth large-format tiles I wanted to add conceptual solutions, color transitions to white or color into another color. Similar to what happens when looking at the sky, which changes its colors depending on the weather or time of day. I wanted to introduce a feeling of air and lightness into the interior design, hence the gradients, for which the colors from the Cielo e Terra collection transitioning to white are the base. It's a bit like in nature, a bit like on a stage in a theater, where light is softly arranged on the surfaces of the scenery, creating the illusion of space and infinity. In the case of this project, these are slabs that, with their conceptual interpretation of nature, complement the collection's existing uniformly colored large-format slabs. Passing from one to the other, the delicate play of color is also an intriguing optical treatment for me. The slabs on the facades of buildings, depending on the light, blend the solid into the landscape or bring it out from the background. Other novelties are the Cielo e Terra collection slabs with linear decorations, on which we mainly use gold and platinum. These decorations are thought out in such a way that they can be applied on all the colors of the collection's boards, thus ensuring complete harmony. At the same time, they are an additional element combining the color range of the collection into a whole. - emphasizes Dorota Koziara.

Similar to the study of the base color collection for Cielo e Terra inspired by nature, the decorations complementing this collection are also meant to build a harmonious whole together, both in interiors and on facades.

I wanted these products to be versatile and perfectly suitable for use in different parts of the world, harmonizing with the diverse landscape, whether they are used in interiors, on facades, in public or private spaces. Harmony is the basis of our peaceful existence. It is easier for us to function well in a beautiful and harmonious environment. - Dorota Koziara concludes.
