This year's edition of the International Architecture Biennale, scheduled for October 13-14, will include exhibitions and debates on urban space or speed dating talks with experts. Deceuninck, a company whose modus operandi resonates with the theme of solutions for architecture friendly to the city and its residents, has become one of the three main partners of the event.
Deceuninck intends to present its Elegant system at the event - window profiles that are created from recycled PVC and can be fully recycled again after their useful life.
As the organizers of MBA Krakow 2023 suggest, the modern city needs change. "Recover," the watchword of this year's edition, refers to the existing need to "heal" the city in such a way that it is a resident-friendly environment that respects cultural heritage, while at the same time adapting to the challenges of the modern world - related to the climate crisis, among others.
Deceuninck is an example of a company that wants to set the standard in the window and door industry when it comes to its approach to sustainable construction. The company is investing in manufacturing technologies that allow it to process raw materials without losing their performance, which it is doing at a state-of-the-art recycling plant in Diksmuide, Belgium. It has also announced its intention to reduceCO2 emissions by 60% by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

The program of this year's MBA includes panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions and presentations of competition works, as well as, among others, discussions about architecture and urban planning with invited specialists in the speed dating formula. The event will take place on October 13-14 at the ICE Congress Center in Krakow, where there will also be a Deceuninck stand. There you will be able to learn about the closed-loop economy being implemented, recycling of raw material, as well as the manufacturer's latest solutions proposed in the area of joinery, which are environmentally friendly - such as Phoenix profiles, 100% manufactured from recycled raw material.
The first edition of the International Architecture Biennale took place in 1985. Over the years, the event has provided a forum for architects to exchange ideas and experiences, and has played host to internationally recognized experts. Today, the event is held every two years and focuses primarily on urban spaces. Responsible for organizing the event together with the Association of Polish Architects Krakow Branch are: Faculty of Architecture of the Tadeusz Kosciuszko Cracow University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts of the Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Cracow Academy, Małopolska Regional Chamber of Architects of Poland and the monthly magazine Architektura & Biznes.
