Creative interior design with Viega products

20 of October '22

Installing a bathroom in the attic poses some challenges, but thanks to well-thought-out construction and sanitary solutions, we do not have to fear such a project. What's more, if the angle of the roof allows the room to maintain sufficient height, the slanted roof gives the interior a truly unique atmosphere. The sloping roof can also be skillfully used to divide the bathroom into different usable zones.

A key role in this type of project is played by concealed housing. With the help of the Viega Prevista system, we can easily separate the space in the bathroom into a front part with a toilet and sink, which is used more often, and a back part with a bathtub and shower, which is a home relaxation zone. In the example presented, the separateness of the different zones was further emphasized by a different color of wall and floor tiles.

Viega Prevista is an innovative concealed system that contains significantly fewer components thanks to its modular concept. This makes storage and installation on site easier. The frames of the Prevista Dry line are designed for classic installation against a wall or in profiles, which are the construction of partition walls erected in a drywall system. Prevista Pure pre-wall blocks allow flexible "wet installation". The heart of the Viega system is the cistern, identical in all models with a standard height of 1120 mm. The flush technology is always the same, regardless of the height and depth of the concealed element, so the investor retains complete freedom of choice of the actuating button, right up to the final installation stage. The Prevista cistern can be combined with all new buttons from the Visign series and can be replaced as needed.

Limited room height

The first question that arises when the height of a room is limited is: how to make sensible use of the space under the slanted roof? In this case, the architect decided to devote the entire rear area to a relaxation zone. The focal point of the design is a long, heated bench. Adjacent to it is a bathtub, which provides an unobstructed view through the skylight, and a spacious shower with a floor drain. The wall, which rises from floor to ceiling, houses a rain showerhead and shower fixtures. At the same time, the wall provides a functional and visual demarcation between the bath and toilet areas.

WC installation

In the half-wall separating the toilet from the bathtub, the Prevista Dry rack is built in. It is equipped with a universal cistern, whose one-piece tank was made by blow molding. The desired flush volume can be easily set at the drain valve, and an integrated flow choke prevents any water from splashing outside the toilet bowl. Five adjustment levels allow you to match the optimal flow rate to any commercially available bowl, including flangeless versions. All manually assembled system components are colored yellow - from the angle valve closure, to the drain arch mounting clips, to the drain valve adjustment sliders.

Color accents

In the case of an attic bathroom, the bathing area should be dominated by rather bright colors. They make the interior seem more spacious and "lighter". Darker tiles can be used in the toilet area. Such a division not only helps to functionally develop the space, but also introduces an interesting stylistic accent. An elegant detail that will add character to the toilet area is the stainless steel Visign for More 204 actuating button, also available in matte black.

Extremely narrow Advantix Vario linear drain in wall version

Minimalist design, infinitely variable length adjustment and high drainage capacity - the Advantix Vario wall drain has been impressing with its excellent design and high installation flexibility since its launch. It is supplied as standard in a length of 1200 mm, but can be shortened to any size with millimeter precision, even to 300 mm.

The body of the drain is made of high-quality plastic, and the installation depth is only 25 mm. Thus, the drain can be installed in both a frame wall and an ordinary masonry wall. The drain's capacity is 0.6 - 0.75 l/s, thus exceeding the requirements of EN 1253. Advantix Vario also meets the requirements of DIN 4109 and VDI 4100 for sound insulation.

Electronically controlled bath mixer

Viega's electronically controlled bath mixers from the Multiplex Trio E series reliably and fully automatically control the temperature at which water enters the bathtub and the fill level. Thanks to the memory function, the device can save preferred settings (temperature and water quantity) for up to three different users. The selected program is started by simply pressing the control element once, twice or three times. Information about the current filling parameters is displayed by an LED light ring on the control module, in the form of changing colors - from blue to red. When the set filling level is reached, the supply is automatically stopped.

The Multiplex Trio E mixer offers great flexibility in terms of installation. Depending on our needs, we can mount it on the edge of the tub or on the wall, using an optional kit. All electronics are usually hidden under the bathtub enclosure or in some other invisible location. The fixture can optionally be controlled remotely using a web browser on mobile devices.
