The best in the industry on sustainable architecture. Cosentino invites you to a panel discussion as part of the Łódź Design Festival

25 of April '22

On May 13, 2022, as part of the Łódź Design Festival, the Spanish company Cosentino, invites to a panel discussion "Responsible Architecture. Sustainable Design". The owners of Poland's most successful and recognized architectural firms have already confirmed their participation. The discussion on the goals and importance of sustainable architecture will include: Robert Konieczny of KWK Promes, Marta Sękulska-Wrońska, representing the WXCA studio, Agnieszka Kalinowska-Sołtys of APA Wojciechowski, as well as architecture critic Marcin Szczelina and Aneta Konowrocka, Marketing Manager of Cosentino.

Sustainable architecture standards pose important tasks to the architect as a designer and coordinator of the design process, opening up new perspectives on both the urban and social levels. The intention of sustainable design becomes durability and longevity of materials, energy efficiency, turning to renewable raw materials, recyclability and integration with the natural environment to the fullest extent possible. The implementation of these goals remains mostly voluntary. Increasingly, however, it is beginning to show that architects and investors are serious about the common good, which is the future of our planet.

When shaping space, decisions on the choice of specific materials affect not only the present, but also the well-being of future generations. That is why it is so important to take responsibility for one's choices already at the design stage. During a panel discussion to be held on May 13, 2022, at 3:00 pm, at the Art Incubator space in the Art Factory (ul.Tymienieckiego 3 in Lodz), exceptional guests, invited by the Spanish company Cosentino, which specializes in the production of large-format stone cladding for the world of cubic architecture and interiors, will try to answer the question: is contemporary architecture ready to build with sustainability in mind, and what challenges do its creators face? The panel will be held in Building C (lecture hall on the first floor).

Voice of the best in the industry

The panel, moderated by Ewa Trzcionka, a lecturer at SWPS University and a specialist in value-based business strategies, will feature distinguished guests. Cosentino's invitation was accepted by Robert Konieczny (for the first time as a speaker at the LDF in the festival's 16-year history), owner of KWK Promes, a studio that has made a huge contribution to the development of European architecture. Konieczny has been nominated ten times for the European Prize of the Mies van der Rohe Foundation. He won the prestigious House of the Year award for his design of the Aatrial House, winning the World Architecture News competition for the best residential house in the world. His studio was included in the list of the world's 44 best young architects by the publication "Scalae," and Wallpaper magazine ranked KWK Promes among the 101 most exciting architectural offices in the world.
