"Hear... architecture!" is a contest for radio reportage organized by the New Culture Foundation Bęc Zmiana. If you enjoy listening to urban sounds, storytelling, recording and experimenting with form next time you set out for a walk in Warsaw, take audio equipment as well, if only a smartphone.
The goal of the competition is to create space for the development of a new form of storytelling about the city, architecture and its creators. Just as our understanding of space is evolving and the thinking of architects is changing, the conversation about Warsaw's architecture should find new channels and ways to describe the experience. The form of audio stories is currently experiencing a renaissance, which is why the organizers propose to open a platform for the meeting of architecture and sound in the issue of radio reportage.
Reportage on the architecture of Warsaw
Radio report age should be understood broadly - as a word-and-sound registration, podcast, broadcast, composition dissected in a city, experiment with form. Topics may include, for example: the sounds of modern buildings, stories of the development of Warsaw's spaces, disappearing buildings, reborn monuments, temporary or permanent communities associated with a particular place.
The evaluation of the submitted reports will be made by a jury consisting of:
- Aleksandra Łapkiewicz - radio host, reporter,
- Aleksandra Kędziorek - curator, architectural historian,
- Bogna Świątkowska - president of the Foundation for New Culture Bęc Zmiana,
- Jarosław Trybuś - architectural historian, curator.
