Archasm invites you to participate in the international idea competition "Urban Chair" for the design of an urban furniture. The goal of the competition is to develop innovative and interactive prototypes of seats, benches or modules that can be placed in any urban space.
The competition design should be more than a traditional park bench, in addition to a comfortable seat, it should stimulate more interaction between people, become an important symbol in the place where it is located. Designed urban furniture should give users a sense of customization, be sculptural works of public art. Seating should take into account factors related to comfort, ergonomics, durability and accessibility.
Competition concepts are not limited by a specific area or the furniture's dimensions. It can be a bench for a pair of users, a group of single seats, or a larger module to accommodate a group of people.
Registration runs from June 1 to July 31 this year.(early registration) and from August 1 to August 30 this year.(standard registration). The deadline for submitting works is August 31 this year.
