Cemex Poland partners with an exhibition of Frida Kahlo's works

04 of August '23

Cemex Poland has become a partner of the exhibition entitled The Color of Life. Frida Kahlo. The Mexican artist's works can be seen at the Royal Lazienki Museum in Warsaw until September 3. Cemex, as a company with roots in Mexico, supports initiatives that bring the culture and traditions of the country closer to Poles.

Frida Kahlo's works have been exhibited in Poland only once, in 2017. The current exhibition, accompanying the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Mexico, was organized in cooperation with the Royal Lazienki Museum, the Embassy of Mexico and Colección Acervo INBAL - Museo de Arte Moderno, a Mexican cultural institution dedicated to popularizing Mexican culture abroad.

Visitors to the exhibition can admire three paintings by Frida Kahlo: There Hangs My Dress (1933), Coconuts (1951) and Still Life with Watermelons (1953). Visitors to the Royal Baths will also be treated to an outdoor installation referencing the famous Blue House(La Casa Azul), where the artist grew up, lived and created.

The organizers of the exhibition have also planned a number of accompanying events aimed at both adults and children, including art and art therapy workshops.

Thinking of its Mexican roots, Cemex supports projects that bring Mexican culture and art closer to the world. We are happy that this time we have made our contribution to the organization of an extraordinary exhibition, thanks to which the Polish public will be able to get to know better the work of Frida Kahlo, one of the most revered artists of the 20th century," says Agnieszka Garbacz, Manager of Public Affairs, Social Impact & ERM at Cemex Poland.

The ongoing exhibition is one of many examples of Cemex's commitment to promoting the culture of Mexico. Last year, residents of Chelm were able to take part in meetings on Mexican traditions and customs, organized as part of an employee volunteer project. This year's program of the Chelm Cement Plant's Open Day, in turn, included Mexican culture workshops and traditional dance shows.
