The international Förderpreis Beton Central Europe competition will for the first time select a winner in Central Europe. CEMEX is inviting scientists and concrete research specialists from Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany to submit projects that have an impact on the development of concrete technology. The call for projects will begin on January 1, 2020, and the prize is €10,000.
Awarded by CEMEX in Germany since 1984, the Förderpreis Beton Prize will become a European prize, bearing the name Förderpreis Beton Central Europe. With the start of the 19th edition of the competition in 2020, scientists from Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany will be able to submit their projects. CEMEX is highlighting its international business activities by organizing the competition.
In Germany, the award is held in high regard by experts professionally involved in concrete. Awarded in the field of science and technology, it has become the leading award in the field of building materials research, also known as the "Nobel of the concrete industry."
The call for projects is aimed at professionals from companies in the construction industry, as well as scientists from universities and institutes involved in building materials research. To date, the best graduates from German universities and building materials-related fields have competed for the Förderpreis Beton award. Many of them are now among the most recognized industry experts.
CEMEX announced the competition to intensify the development of the production, processing and application of concrete and concrete structures. Submitted research papers are to present opportunities to improve the characteristics of building materials, their quality, cost effectiveness, ecology and technological aspects of concrete and concrete structures.
Competition jury
CEMEX will accept applications for the Förderpreis Beton Central Europe from January 1 to April 30, 2020. The decision on the award will be made by an independent expert jury, which includes well-known professors who deal with building materials technology. The new European dimension of the award is reflected in this year's jury, which has been joined by Polish and Czech representatives from the world of building materials research. Traditionally, the jury will also include renowned scientists from German universities and colleges.
