6 exclusive powder paint shades with a fine-structured finish

20 of April '20

Boasting a 150-year presence in the coatings industry, Axalta Coating Systems presents POLAR, its latest collection of 6 exclusive powder coatings shades with a fine-textured finish and quality that provides exceptional resistance to outdoor conditions. The collection is further enhanced with the properties of Cool™ technology, which addresses the problems arising in architecture and construction of thermal effects on metal substrates. POLAR ale belongs to the Alesta® SuperDurable range of powder coatings for metal substrates, developed on the basis of a highly durable polyester resin system.

The Product Development specialists at Axalta understand well that in modern architecture there is a constant search for materials that will ensure successful and sustainable projects.

The collection is further enhanced by the properties of Cool™ technology, which increases the level of infrared reflection, maintaining a lower temperature of the painted surface. The Alesta® Cool™ system thus means double the added value. A study of more than 200 homes in Florida found that air conditioning accounts for 33% of electricity consumption. POLAR products help reduce temperature fluctuations, further ensuring a longer project life. Metal components coated with these innovative paints largely resist thermal impacts, providing increased structural durability. This is particularly valuable for large sliding windows and doors, cladding and insulation under cladding, as well as other components that are exposed to high temperatures on a daily basis.

Axalta pioneered the use of coatings with a sandy finish, in a quality suitable for architecture, and such a finish is also offered by POLAR products, which are fine-structure paints. The effect of the fine-structure finish is highly valued in the architectural world for its special, sophisticated appearance and high scratch resistance.

As Frank De Cock, head of Colour Design Europe, explains:

"We are very proud to offer another solution to the problems plaguing the architectural industry. Dark, infrared-reflective paints with a fine-structure finish are very popular in the market, so our product will undoubtedly be the answer to the needs emerging in architecture and design in relation to thermal effects on metal substrates. In addition, the 6 exclusive dark shades fit perfectly into today's trends."
