The winners of the forty-seventh and forty-eighth Pritzker Prizes were announced today - Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara have won the world's most important architectural honor and are the first award winners from Ireland. Congratulations!
Architects Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara have been running Grafton Architects in Dublin since 1978. In 2018 they curated the Venice International Architecture Biennale, and this year they were awarded the Royal Gold Medal by the Royal Institute of British Architects on behalf of the British Queen. Today they also became winners of the most important architectural award.
Being an architect is a tremendous privilege. Winning this award is a wonderful affirmation of our belief in architecture. Thank you for this great honor," said Yvonne Farrell.
