In Warsaw's Mokotow district stands a renovated, pre-war tenement house turned into a luxury apartment building. The building attracts attention with its reference to the art déco style - with the decor of the facade, lobby and staircase. Such is also the interior of one of the apartments designed by Katarzyna Kraszewska - full of noble materials, forms and inspiration from the interwar style.
The Warsaw apartment did not require major changes to the existing functional layout. The base of the interior remained the wooden floor, complemented by black marble plinths. In the living room still hangs the same chic chandelier as before. Adjustments included only a part of the master bedroom with a bathroom and dressing room.

open living room
The aforementioned living room is the central, open room of the apartment. On one side, it connects to the kitchen through the dining room, on the other to the entrance area. In the hallway, the attention is drawn to the glass console and the circular sconces, referring to interwar modernism, which are also hung in other parts of the apartment. The corridor space is multiplied by a spacious mirrored cabinet with geometric handles, also inspired by the art déco style. In the living room, a secluded place for relaxation and meetings is created by a comfortable sofa composed of modules and a Shanghai stone table.

multiplied space
Next to the living room is a striking dining room with a table with slanted supports, designed by Katarzyna Kraszewska. The table is surrounded by comfortable upholstered chairs in shades of beige. The background for the entire composition is formed by a huge mirror, which further illuminates the bright interior, multiplies the space and enriches the arrangement with an ever-changing, vivid play of reflections or reflections.

Thekitchen, with its spacious L-plan built-ins and a small round marble table, is connected to the dining room and to the living room by two wide clearances. The interior is decorated in the same soft palette of beige, gray and white as the living room and dining room. An elegant, almost salon-like character is given to the kitchen by, among other things, the same curtains and chairs as in the dining room. Humorous accents are added by lamps in the form of clouds suspended over the table.

gray that promotes dreams
Straight from the living area you can also go to the master bedroom with a dressing room and a separate bathroom, as well as to the children's room. This part of the apartment is kept in a darker shade of gray. In the center of the bedroom stands a wide bed framed by a symmetrical composition consisting of a low bedside table, an upholstered headrest, wall upholstery and vertical mirrors, in which golden lamps hanging from the ceiling are reflected.

stone bathroom
From the bedroom, passing the dressing room, one passes to the bathroom with stone walls and floors. An interesting element is the washbasin made of a hollow boulder. The carving of the mirror, illuminated by a pair of slender lamps, matches its irregular shape. On a velour pouffe with a brass base you can sit down to put on makeup or prepare for a bath.

jungle on the wall
References to the art déco style can also be found in the children's room. A striking Vertigo lamp hangs from the ceiling, and order is ensured by a spacious wall unit with space for books on open shelves. Accents of color are introduced by a wallpaper with a jungle motif, forming the setting for the bed. A white wall lamp resembling a parrot can be spotted on it. There is no doubt that dreams in this room are always colorful.
