It is not only new developments that contribute to the urban fabric. In addition to developers and investors, it is also created by people of art, music, activists and social activists.
On the occasion of the 30th birthday of the "reborn" local governments, Gazeta Wyborcza is organizing a Supermiasto plebiscite. You can vote in it for investments and events in cities across Poland. Today we present Toruń, Zielona Góra, Częstochowa and Kielce. All interested parties are invited to vote, which lasts until April 30, the results will be announced on May 8. This is an opportunity to appreciate the development of cities over the past 30 years and see how much local governments have achieved.
Torun
Torun will forever be proud of Nicolaus Copernicus and gingerbread, but it has several other reasons. One of them is the opening of the Jordanki Cultural and Convention Center, Motoarena, Arena Torun and the Gen. Elżbieta Zawacka Bridge. The city also boasts the Skyway Festival , the International Festival of Light, which draws people from all over the world. Torun. Supermunicipal plebiscite.
Zielona Gora
Voting for Zielona Gora's greatest success opens with electrobuses, thanks to which the city's air quality has improved significantly. The merger of the WSP and Zielona Gora University of Technology created the University of Zielona Gora, whose pride is the university's library. Thanks to EU funds, it was possible to renovate the Old Market Square and the promenade leading to it. In addition, the CRS Hall and aquapark were opened. Zielona Góra. Supermiasto plebiscite.
Częstochowa
One of the successes of Częstochowa is undoubtedly the modernization of Biegański Square and Al. NMP. A municipal cemetery has been built, one of the nicest facilities of its kind in Poland. One can visit Czestochowa for the local Frytka Off Festival, whose name derives from the "fry alley" near the train station. The city has also developed public transportation, purchasing low-floor train cars. Częstochowa. Supermiasto plebiscite.
Kielce
Thanks to the establishment of the Kielce Trade Fair, the city is visited by thousands of people - dozens of events are organized here every year. Since 2013, the Civic Budget has also been developing, with more supporters each year. The investments implemented as part of it contribute to the growth of the city. Kielce can boast of its Geopark and Geoeducation Center - not only the activities conducted there, but also the architectural form of its building. Kielce. Supermiasto plebiscite.
